Beauty BLVD – Star Dust – Festival Glitter & Application Pack – PR

IMG_6485

An out of this world, festival ready glitter pack!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Beauty BLVD for me to review for my blog – Please note I received this complimentary!

I’ve been fascinated by the recent Festival Makeup trend and the vast amount of glitter scattered everywhere, so Beauty BLVD was kind enough to send me one of their Star Dust glitter packs. In this pack you get a container of large glitter, a tube of their glitter glue and an application brush – making it an three in one package!

IMG_6486

The glitter is made up of larger luxury glitter, approximately 3mm in diameter, and smaller glitter specks. It is cosmetic grade glitter which has been approved by the tested requirements of the Cosmetic Safety Assessments. Please make sure you’re being safe when purchasing glitters online as some scrupulous companies are selling craft glitter as cosmetic glitter which can cause damage to the skin or eyes, sometimes leading to blindness. In each pack you have enough for five applications, which is handy if there’s a bunch of you wanted to glam up for a festival or event. Or keep it all for yourself for creative looks!

IMG_6487

The binding glue is easy to apply, not watery, and a gel like substance and the glitter sticks to it well, after it dried I kept an eye on it to see how easily the glitter comes off. There was a bit of particles dropping, but the majority kept stuck on strong. The glitter was easy to remove with a cotton pad soaked in warm soapy water, and the glue didn’t damage the skin – kind of like a temporary tattoo with the adhesive.

You can use the binding gel in your hair and it easily washes out with shampoo, and so does the glitter!

Bottom Line: A glittery treat for all who enjoy sparkling like a Cosmic Child!

Price: £12.50 at BeautyBLVD.

Saturday Lashes – A Pair for Everyday! 100% Handmade and Cruelty Free lashes! – PR

IMG_7026

A set of lashes for every day, all in one cute, curated collection!

I stumbled upon Saturday Lashes on Instagram one evening, and instantly fell in love with the brands premise – a collection of lashes for every day of the week. Please note these were gifted to me for use and promotional purposes.

These lashes are handmade and assembled in the USA where they use 100% cruelty free mink hairs – they are currently thinking of expanding with a vegan range for my Vegan followers!

IMG_7028

So how did Saturday Lashes come about? Katrina the owner decided that she was done with the status quo and delved right in to create her own natural, pair of eyelashes that wasn’t gaudy, heavy or overbearing for her eyes. She decided to curate a pair for every day of the week to complement our moods.

In the collection you get;

  • Monday Coffee – Doe-eyed Short and Long Lashes “You Woke Up Like This”
  • Tuesday Ease – Strong Clusters Broken Up By Crisscrossing Hairs, “Others Only Wish They Were You.
  • Wednesday Social –  Match lashes with Colourful Shadows, “Followers Beware.”
  • Thursday Blush – Heavy On The End For The Perfect Cat-eye, “Meow.”
  • Friday Night – Blue Lases Blended Into Black Make The Whites Of Eyes Whiter, “Go Boogie On Down.”
  • Saturday Morning – Pair With Dewy Skin and Light Makeup, “Do you hear that? They’re Looking For Their Missing Angel.”
  • Sunday Brunch -Eat Waffles, Drink OJ, and Take It Easy, “P.S.Use These Too!”

IMG_7027

The lashes come in different lengths to complement the name and day, allowing for subtle lashes for every day glamour to showstopping lashes to impress in the club. Allowing you to choose the style that best suits what event you’re wearing them for!

The band is very flexible, which allows it to mould easily to your eyelid from the start, but it does make it quite the task to remove them from the plastic tray – although I’d rather have that than have a rigid band stabbing me in the eyelid or pinging off… With the proper care, these lashes can withstand up to 20 uses, making them a very good investment if you’re willing to take care of them compared to ones off the high-street.

Bottom Line: The variety Saturday Lashes have to offer is amazing with a cute set designed for every day!

Price: From $27 a set, at Saturday Lashes.

Nails Inc. – Inc. Redible – Shine A Light On Me Light Reflecting Lipstick – Basically Extra

IMG_7016

A stunning multi-use lipstick that is perfect for summer!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Nail’s Inc for me to review for my blog – Please note I received this complimentary!

For this summer Nail’s Inc has released a beautiful collection of lipsticks, glosses, nail varnishes and face masks. Check out their new collection here! I decided to try out one of their new Shine A Light On Me lipstick in the shade Basically Extra, as the rosey pink of the lipstick and gold holographic pigment stood out to me.

IMG_7017

The thing I loved about this lipstick has build-able coverage, so its perfect to apply as a sheer balm with a light application or as a powerful punch with layers – making it completely custom to your style and look. The lipstick is balm-esque which doesn’t dry your lips out but instead keeps them hydrated after application, lasting a long while. Due to this easy glide formula it is easy to use for a multitude of other ways – I also used it as a highlighter as its sparkly enough to add some goddess glow which looks sun kissed.

IMG_7018

You can see my swatches below showing what it looks like with hard pressure, light pressure and then dabbed out for use as a highlighter.

IMG_7019

Bottom Line: A stunning, perfect for summer lip stick that adds a subtle glow to your lips for a fresh, dewy look.

URBAN DECAY – Blush, Bronzer and Highlight Palette – Sin Afterglow Palette

IMG_6729

A sparkly collection of blusher, bronzer and highlights!

So I got this recently as I wanted an all in one palette to take on my travels to save me carrying a load of compacts/kits in my makeup bag. The colours weren’t anything special, which is sad from a brand as innovative as Urban Decay. I feel they played it safe with the release of this palette – but by doing so it creates an everyday staple.

In this palette you get six shades; A matte rose pink – Kiss Off, a sparkly peach pink – Score, a matte universal tan brown – Paranoid, a glittery rose-gold/brown –PSA, a peach gold highlight – Spotlight, and finally a champagne highlight – Sin.

IMG_6579

Although the colours are run of the mill standard blushes, bronzers and highlights – I have to commend them on their formula. They’re easy to use, blend and apply – no fallout and easy to build up colour to create the look that you want. I wouldn’t say they’re a buttery powder, they’re as Urban Decay say – ultra-lightweight due to their afterglow formula.

A little goes a long way so I’m very glad from a value for money side of things. They’re also very long lasting. Urban Decay say they should last up to 8 hours. I’ve worn them for 6 hours without a primer or setting spray and not seen them wear off!

Bottom Line: If you want to have a blush, highlight and contour palette in one and love Urban Decay formula – this is for you, but the shades aren’t revolutionary!

True Beauty London – Premium Beauty Monthly Subscription Box – PR

IMG_6483

A new beauty subscription box to challenge the others!

I discovered True Beauty on Instagram where then got in touch and sent me a beauty subscription box to try out and review. So please note- I received this box complimentary to review!

The True Beauty model is to allow us to try out new products in the comfort of our homes via their curated monthly subscription box. Their boxes contain handpicked items, often with a theme, by the lovelies at True Beauty and you will receive four full sized items and two sample products to try out! Here is my box from May;

IMG_6482

You would have seen a sneak peek of my subscription box on my Instagram stories – if you don’t follow me you should!! In my box I received a pair of Eylure Enchanted Power Flower eyelashes, NYX Vivid Brights eyeliner in Purple, Smashbox Lipgloss in Lilac, Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb face mask, NYX Tea Tree Blotting Paper, an E.L.F. Blending Brush and Belif cream sample.

IMG_6484

I was very impressed with the variety and brands that were included – NYX and Smashbox are premium brands so to get such a haul as this was impressive, especially considering the £30 price tag. I have to point out that some items, for instance the Smashbox lip gloss are old season and no longer available, it’s still nice to have them in a subscription box and shows the initiative the creators had to ensure we have premium brands in this deluxe box without cheaping out. I’d rather have a slightly older product, even discontinued items, than have little bits and bobs that can often turn subscription boxes into bric-n-brac, fill ’em up clutter where I’m stuck with items that I don’t even value.

Bottom Line: A premium beauty box with a variety of brands from both ends of the beauty spectrum.

Price: From £24 a month, at True Beauty London.

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Eye Shadow Palette – Soft Glam

IMG_5815

Anastasia’s return to the softer side of the palette.

After the critically acclaimed Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, they decided to create an on trend Grunge-esque palette called Subculture which was received to mixed reviews. People complained about fallout, the terrible blendability and left generally bad reviews regarding the formula but raved about the colours. So hearing the negative press, ABH decided to revert back to their Modern Renaissance formula and with that Soft Glam was born!

IMG_5817

Taking a selections of pinks, blushes, browns, and oranges, and some favourites from Modern Renaissance such as Tempera, Burnt Orange and Sienna, this is by far one of my favourite palettes which has sadly pushed aside Modern Renaissance. This is my go to palette for formal events and weddings as I enjoy the soft, glittery looks I can create.

IMG_5858

After how much I disliked the formula of Subculture, I am so glad they returned to the original formula from Modern Renaissance palette. The shadows are creamy, simple to blend and apply, which makes creating stunning and pigmented eye looks so quick and easy.

Bottom Line: The colours are rich, highly pigmented and silky to the touch! So glad they brought back the old, good formula!

Abibu London – Nutra-Revitalising Moisturiser – HydraVictuals – PR

IMG_6629

A nutrient full, light moisturiser that hydrates skins!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Abibu London for me to review for my followers  – Please note I received this complimentary!

This moisturiser is part of Abibu’s revolutionary take on modern skincare, ensuring that their products in their new HydraVictuals range are full of nutritious ingredients that have scientific evidence of their beneficial properties – it isn’t some hokum whizzed up in a bottle on a false promise, it’s an elegant blend of luxury and science.

My first impressions of the product is how well presented it is in it’s box, it looks good and sleek and extremely presentable. The jar itself looks chic, a bold clean white with pink and chrome accents making it look very sophisticated on your vanity or nightstand. It’s made of a light plastic making it easy to travel with compared with glass jars that you find with other products – saving vital luggage weight for other makeup…

IMG_6627

This moisturiser is packed full of plant extracts, vitamins C and E, anti-oxidants, biotin, collagen, and zinc – making a treat for your skin and senses – it smells delicious, light floral with a soothing calm and not overpowering which is what I like in my products as fragrance can cause irritation!

I have been using this moisturiser for a month to ensure I could get the best impression of the moisturiser before writing this review. I was very shocked at how easily this product sunk into my skin considering the thick appearance of the moisturiser, it has a souffle texture within the jar. It’s amazing watching it melt at the touch of my body heat – creating a soft, smooth and hydrated finale for my skincare routine.

IMG_6626

I’ve found it creates a taut feeling to my skin making it feel instantly rejuvenated and plumped. The hydration is brilliant – as you guys are aware I suffer from combi/dry skin and find some products knock my skins balance and can cause oiliness/breakouts – this however just adds the right amount of hydration without the breakouts as it isn’t oily so doesn’t clog up my pores.

I’ve been preferring to use it underneath my primer, or even without primer, as I have found it to sit well and doesn’t create an oily base meaning my makeup is not affected by the product and remains long-wearing. I’ve also found my makeup does not react with the ingredients as some moisturisers can speed up the oxidation of my foundation.

Bottom Line: Became a staple in my routine, even to the point of replacing my GlamGlow Glowstarter!!

Rodial – Glamolash Mascara XXL – Black

IMG_6070

A bold, non-clumping volume boosting mascara!

This is the first of the Rodial makeup and skin collection I have tried – mainly due to the price point being quite high compared to my tried, tested and loved staples. So seeings as I got this free from a magazine (RED; May edition), I was very excited to try it!

I found the brush to be what I like, not too heavy so easy to manoeuvre and apply to all my pesky lower lashes. It applied evenly and the brush wasn’t saturated -just a nice amount to work with. It didn’t clump my lashes together like spider legs but left them looking like wispie falsies – very impressive!

IMG_6071

I do think this will become a staple with use over time – and depending on how long the tube lasts it might even replace my beloved Urban Decay Perversion… Eeek! Never thought I’d say that!

Bottom Line: A wispie eyelash maker, adding volume without the clumpiness!

Price: £24 at Rodial.

Moprhe – Jaclyn Hill Collaboration- Eyeshadow Palette – The Review!

IMG_5060

Hubba Hubba! Come to Mama!

As you guys know, I treated myself to one of these palettes and also treated one of my followers to one in my 8K Instagram Giveaway! I am so glad I did, this palette is absolutely incredible.

The vivid colours, the multiple looks you can create, and the quality makes this one of my favourite palettes of all time – all those instagram reviews were right! This was also my first ever Morphe palette – but it will definitely not be my last. I am genuinely, and thoroughly impressed by this creation and Jaclyn Hill should give herself a round of applause!

These eye shadows are creamy, highly pigmented, easy to blend, stunningly beautiful and such brilliant value! The blendability of these shadows is next level – it’s so easy to create seamless makeup looks with this palette.

IMG_5061

Look how bright and pigmented these babies are! I think I’m actually in love. Considering the price – £37- and the fact you get 35 unique matte/shimmer shades, it works out as £1.05 per generously sized pan – it’s undeniably good value! Especially when you tally it up to the £43 you pay for an Anastasia Beverly Hills palette where you get half the shades, which are smaller in size.

I cannot wait to get my next Morphe palette to join this one on my vanity table!

Bottom Line:  A varied collection of matte and shimmer shades! Absolute staple that every beauty guru needs!

Price: £37 at BeautyBay.com.

Sleek Makeup – i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette – A New Day – ABH Soft Glam Dupe?!?

Firstly, massive THANK YOU! to Sleek Makeup for this huge haul for me to try out and review for my lovely followers!!!

IMG_6096.JPG

The first item I will be reviewing from this collection is their A New Day palette which is a stunning array of on-trend blushed neutrals, oranges and browns! Please note, I did receive this item complimentary from Sleek Makeup!

IMG_6102

This palette boasts 12 neutral shades for you to mix and match to create your own subtle, glamorous looks which are on trend. You get warm brown shades to define and smoke out your looks, and beautiful light shimmer shades to help highlight and create halo looks.

IMG_6103

Whilst I was using this palette I wasn’t surprised at the creaminess and the lack of fallout – Sleek Makeup eye shadow are brilliant value and great quality. I’ve always been excited when they release a new i-Divine! These eye shadows are creamy to apply, not dusty, blend well and are very pigmented considering their cost point! They also last a long while without eye shadow primer, so if you’re in a rush to get out the door these will stay put for hours without necessary prep time!

One thing that I did notice is how similar the palette it is to my Anastasia’s Beverly Hill’s Soft Glam palette which my boyfriend bought me. The colours are very similar, apart from the stunning foiled shadows and the brighter orange. The basic shadows are all the same hues, and can be built up to match the vividness of the ABH shadows, but there is a lack of pigmented, foiled shades to complete the Sleek palette.

This palette is perfect for matte, neutral looks but if you want more glamorous, showstopping with glitter on top shadows, then you’ll need to team it up with another palette!

Bottom Line: Lovely pigmented, great colour pay off eye shadows that are worth the price!

Price: £8.99 at Boots.com.
