True Beauty London – Premium Beauty Monthly Subscription Box – PR

IMG_6483

A new beauty subscription box to challenge the others!

I discovered True Beauty on Instagram where then got in touch and sent me a beauty subscription box to try out and review. So please note- I received this box complimentary to review!

The True Beauty model is to allow us to try out new products in the comfort of our homes via their curated monthly subscription box. Their boxes contain handpicked items, often with a theme, by the lovelies at True Beauty and you will receive four full sized items and two sample products to try out! Here is my box from May;

IMG_6482

You would have seen a sneak peek of my subscription box on my Instagram stories – if you don’t follow me you should!! In my box I received a pair of Eylure Enchanted Power Flower eyelashes, NYX Vivid Brights eyeliner in Purple, Smashbox Lipgloss in Lilac, Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb face mask, NYX Tea Tree Blotting Paper, an E.L.F. Blending Brush and Belif cream sample.

IMG_6484

I was very impressed with the variety and brands that were included – NYX and Smashbox are premium brands so to get such a haul as this was impressive, especially considering the £30 price tag. I have to point out that some items, for instance the Smashbox lip gloss are old season and no longer available, it’s still nice to have them in a subscription box and shows the initiative the creators had to ensure we have premium brands in this deluxe box without cheaping out. I’d rather have a slightly older product, even discontinued items, than have little bits and bobs that can often turn subscription boxes into bric-n-brac, fill ’em up clutter where I’m stuck with items that I don’t even value.

Bottom Line: A premium beauty box with a variety of brands from both ends of the beauty spectrum.

Price: From £24 a month, at True Beauty London.

Scent & Co – Monthly Premium Perfume and Fragrance Subscription Box- PR

IMG_6075

A perfect way to sample, and change your fragrance monthly!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Scent & Co for me to review for my followers  – Please note I received this complimentary to review for you lovely people!

Scent & Co is a rather appealing subscription to me due to the fact I am hoarding a lot of perfumes, namely Marc Jacobs, that I’ve bought in sales and I cannot justify buying new bottles of £70-£100 perfumes when I already have shelves full. But I still want more! So this is where Scent & Co come in to rescue me from this very first world problem…Every month for £14.95 including P&P Scent & Co send you a new perfume in their custom vials to keep you up to date with premium fragrances.

You can pick a new perfume, or the same one, and have a months supply of the perfume or cologne delivered in a sturdy glass vial to fit your bag friendly Scent & Co canister. This essentially allows you to try a new perfume monthly, without having them grow dusty and lonely on your shelves and for a normal bottles worth – you get to try 4 to 6 new perfumes over the upcoming months!

IMG_6077

The vials contain 10ml of your chosen, or mystery, scent for you to switch in the canister for easy transport. I decided to have the Viktor & Rolf’s BonBon for my first scent as I love it to pieces but after my last bottle I just don’t want to buy it again for £55, when I can spread the cost over the next three months and save £10, but also have the opportunity to try a different scent! This is such a handy subscription to have as my perfume tastes often change depending on my mood, occasion or just general vibes!

Bottom Line: The answer to de-cluttering your perfume collection whilst staying up to date with luxurious scents!

Price: £14.95 at Scent & Co.

Livia – The Off Switch for Menstrual Pain – Period Pain Reducing Machine – Review – PR

IMG_5105

Turn your period pain off with this compact machine!

I was very lucky to receive these products from MyLivia for me to review for my followers – Please note I received this product complimentary! After I left my review for the Pink Parcel Subscription box , a company that offers a monthly bundle of sanitary items with added beauty bonuses, the lovely folks at Livia sent me one of their Livia machines for me to try and review for you guys!

The Livia comes in a sturdy box with all the accessories you need for the machine; the Livia itself, the electrodes, two spare gel pads for the electrodes and a carry case to keep your Livia safe during storage and travel and a mini USB lead for charging the rechargeable battery inside. They recommend you change the gel pads often as they lose stickiness over time, which in turns makes the pulses harder to work.

IMG_5103

My first impressions of the item is that it is so small! It can fit in the palm of my hand and you can choose the colour of the Livia to suit your aesthetic – if you change your mind on the colour or design then you can easily get a new colourful skin for it off their website for £10. The machine also has a handy clip so you can attach it to your jeans whilst you wear it during use.

The machine itself looks very subtle – it has only three buttons on the front with the name embossed and no other branding so unless someone asks they’d probably think it was a MP3 player clipped on. The three buttons are how you use it and programme it. The buttons are; an on/off switch, a + switch and a – switch. These are the main controls for the Livia machine. You can control the power of the machine using the + and -, to ensure you’re comfortable or to increase it if your cramps get worse or lessen the power if they’re not that bad – its offer complete control so you can adapt to how you’re feeling.

IMG_5104

Livia’s technology is based on the “Gate Control Theory”. Livia is transmitting a pulse that is keeping the nerves “busy”. Busy nerves means that the nerve-gate is closed, therefore pain signals cannot pass through and are unfelt.

I was very worried that it would hurt using it but the pulse feels like a tingle, like when your phone vibrates but its constant, and on the low settings – you cannot feel it at all but the pain is removed! I’ve even used this machine on my shoulder after I pulled a muscle – and it worked a dream! The pulses override your brains pain signals and it suddenly makes the pain disappear!

As someone who used to have to take co-codamol to deal with the period pain due to how excruciating it was, it’s such a relief that I can now drug-free my period. It’s also discreet enough that I have worn it in work and not had anyone notice it under my blouse. It was also handy for travelling – I recently went back to Cardiff via train which is a 4 hour ride and throughout the journey I was comfortable, paracetamol free and able to control the pulses from my waistband of my jeans. No fiddling around in my bag for tablets or getting my water bottle out – just a quick tap on the + to increase the pulses and I was free from pain.

Bottom Line: I know its expensive, but when I pay at least £8 per period on tablets and pain killers and heat pads for when I’m in work, after a while this becomes an investment! I’m hot water bottle free, I’ve got my mobility back instead of laying in bed trying to get into any and all positions to alleviate the pain, and I can use it on other pains such as when I’ve pulled a muscle at the gym – to me, it’s worth it – I’ve gained the few days of the month of my life back.

Price: £149 at MyLivia.
   Currently on sale for £129

Pink Parcel – Period Beauty Subscription Box – December Box – PR

IMG_3680

The ultimate monthly subscription box, for your monthly!

I was very lucky to receive these products from Pink Parcel for me to review for my followers – Please note I received this subscription box complimentary!

I’ve been eager to try this box as I love the idea of a treat delivered straight to your door to ease your monthly visit from Aunt Flo, so when the lovely ladies at Pink Parcel got in contact with me to try and review for you their December box, I just had to!

The concept behind Pink Parcel is that it’s a straight to your door service, where you plan on their easy to use website the date of your cycle to choose for when you’d like your box delivered! In the box you have four sections as follows; For Now, For Night, For Later and For You, which contains everything you’ll need for your monthly happening as well as treats to perk you up!

In the For Now section, you have cute fabric pouch filled with the necessary items you’ll need for your period – I opted for a tampon only option so got a selection of them with some panty liners, but you can ask for pads or a mix of the two – it’s entirely up to your preferences!

IMG_3678

In the For Night section you have night time maxi pads to absorb Aunt Flo during your sleep, as you shouldn’t use tampons over night due to the increased risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome – if you use tampons, please look this syndrome up just so you’re aware of the risks as it’s not commonly spoken about! For Later, you have a more supplies to last the entirety of your menstrual cycle ensuring you’re not left caught short!

But, this is where the real treat happens – in their For You section you’re greeted with a plethora of beauty products, and feel good treats worth over £40! So for £12.95 a month you get all the sanitary supplies you need, AND OVER £40 OF TREATS! Now can you see why I love this?!

In this months beauty box, I received a So Susan Liquid Eyeliner in Carbon Black, a trio of eye shadows from The Beauty Crop, a pair of Snowflake earrings from Pom  Boutique, 10ml purse friendly bottle of perfume from English Laundry, a sweet orange essential oil bottle to add a sweet fragrance, and a portion of Whittard Earl Grey tea and a Chocolate & Orange Caramel to satisfy your sweet tooth. Keep an eye out for my future posts as I will be reviewing the beauty products separately!

Overall, I am very impressed with the thought and value that this box has for its customers, and it is a lovely treat to receive when you’re feeling a bit down during That Time Of The Month!

Love Me Beauty – June 2017 – #HelloSummer Edit

This months Love Me Beauty edit was all about welcoming in the summer months and included brands such as Manna Kadar Beauty, Perricone MD, YUBE and Nuxe!

IMG_8512

This month I decided to use all my points on stocking back up on Perricone MD items such as their Blue Plasma Cleaning Treatment, which is a godsend to get in these beauty boxes, as a bottle twice the size is £36!!! Whereas this entire collection only cost me £13.95 including the shipping! This particular items used up 25 of my credits, equating to £5.80.

I decided to scoop up the Face Finishing Moisturising Tint from Perricone MD with 30 of my credits to give it a try – its been very long since I have tried a face tinting moisturiser which worked. Considering the full size version of this one is £59, I wanted to give it a go before spending that much on it, so I was very delighted to find it in the boutique this month!

The last item I wanted was to try the Manna Kadar blusher in Paradise, as in my last Love Me Beauty edit I had the other treats from this beauty collection! This blusher is very pigmented, which means you have to use it sparingly or blend it out like hell.

You will be getting a full review of all these items in the coming weeks so keep an eye out! If you’re not too keen on this brand, Love Me Beauty always stocks their boutique with numerous items and brands, allowing you to get your dream treat every single month! They boast Kat Von D beauty, Nuxe, EcoTools – they have full brush sets for 20 credits (thats £3!!).  You can shop the edit’s full boutique here!

If you’re interested in joining Love Me Beauty use the code ROSEM3295520 – for 90 free credits (equivalent to £21 worth of beauty) at Love Me Beauty

Love Me Beauty – May 2017 – #ShineBright Edit

This months Love Me Beauty edit was all about Shining Bright and included brands such as Manna Kadar Beauty, Aromatherapy Associates and Nuxe!

IMG_8001

I decided to go for everything Manna! I had seen this brand on Instagram and their #MannaBabes so spent all my credits on grabbing two of their liquid lip stains, their primer and their Glo illuminiser.

The LipLock stains are a handbag sized treat allowing me to use them on the go. They’re more gloss than lipstick, but add a lovely sheen and colour to your lips. I got both the Sienna and Rosette Poppy Pink shades! These treats were 20 credits each – equating to around £3.30, which is amazing quality for money especially for discovering a new brand!

IMG_7994.JPG

The Deluxe Runway Ready primer is very silky and thick, but feels a tad bit silicone-y. it reminds me so much of Smashbox’s Photo Finish primer! It held my makeup well and allowed a smooth finish on my dry patches.  This was also 20 credits!

The Glo Illuminiser is amazing to use for a sunkissed highlight, or added to a foundation base for some added radiance. Its a semi creamy and liquid texture allowing you to apply it easily with a sponge for a light glow! This was 20 credits as well, I dipped into my add-on credits to get the whole set!

Love Me Beauty – November 2016 – Edit

img_5247

This month’s collection included brands such as Kat Von D, BareMinerals, Make Up For Ever, Nuxe and Eco Tools.

I decided to treat myself to a deluxe version of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Lipstick in Outlaw again – needed another one for my handbag! This amazing treat was only 20 credits! They also had Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss in Magick and her Tattoo Liner in Trooper. These two were also 20 credits so if I chose to I could have had a lovely makeup back stocked up with these three treats.

For my other beauty treats I decided to get the Eco Tools Makeup Brush Cleansing Cloths and the Eco Tools Blending Brush! These cloths are perfect for a quick post makeup application clean or if you’re switching eye shades, but not a suitable alternative to deep cleansing your brushes!

I also opted in for two deluxe samples of some BareMinerals products, including their Lash Domination and Skinlongevity.

Other items on the shop for this edit that I opted out on were Benefit’s Porefessional primer and Roller Lash mascara, Tangle Teezer’s Thick Hair Brush, Make Up For Ever’s Artist Rouge Mat lipstick and Aqua XL Matte Black Liner, Nuxe’s skincare collection. IMG_4006.JPG

“A bewitching collection of beauty essentials to entrance and mesmerise.”

This month’s collection included brands such as Benefit, Merumaya, Make Up For Ever, Nuxe and Tangle Teezer.

I decided to treat myself to two of Benefit’s new eyebrow range and snapped up Ready, Set, Brow! clear eyebrow gel and Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark. Both items are deluxe samples, and have a lot to give even though not full sized! You can find my review of these two here. These two Benefit goodies were 15 Credits each, which meant I could afford two other treats!

For my other beauty treat I selected Make Up For Ever’s Excessive Lash mascara, which was 20 credits. These mascara has a lot to give even in its deluxe sample size! Stay tuned for the review on this as it’ll be up soon!

As I’m currently in a cleansing balm frenzy, I opted for the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm to give it a try.
