Nails Inc. – Inc. Redible – Shine A Light On Me Light Reflecting Lipstick – Basically Extra

IMG_7016

A stunning multi-use lipstick that is perfect for summer!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Nail’s Inc for me to review for my blog – Please note I received this complimentary!

For this summer Nail’s Inc has released a beautiful collection of lipsticks, glosses, nail varnishes and face masks. Check out their new collection here! I decided to try out one of their new Shine A Light On Me lipstick in the shade Basically Extra, as the rosey pink of the lipstick and gold holographic pigment stood out to me.

IMG_7017

The thing I loved about this lipstick has build-able coverage, so its perfect to apply as a sheer balm with a light application or as a powerful punch with layers – making it completely custom to your style and look. The lipstick is balm-esque which doesn’t dry your lips out but instead keeps them hydrated after application, lasting a long while. Due to this easy glide formula it is easy to use for a multitude of other ways – I also used it as a highlighter as its sparkly enough to add some goddess glow which looks sun kissed.

You can see my swatches below showing what it looks like with hard pressure, light pressure and then dabbed out for use as a highlighter.

Bottom Line: A stunning, perfect for summer lip stick that adds a subtle glow to your lips for a fresh, dewy look.

E.l.f. Cosmetics – Eyes, Lips, Face – ExTRA Lip Gloss – Brian & Brett

IMG_5117

Highly pigmented lip gloss, which offers a matte lip coverage in a gloss!

I was actually blown away by these lip glosses – I have used other E.l.f. cosmetics products and I’m always surprised at the quality considering their budget friendly prices – and it was the same for these lipsticks!

These lip glosses are creamy, easy to apply, non sticky and don’t make you feel tacky whilst wearing them. They have a good formula which makes them easy and accurate to apply – I hate it when gloss is so runny it’s hard to put on and drips off like a Vladamua look.

These lip glosses come in a variety of colours and it’s easy to find one to suit your tone and style!

Bottom Line: They glide on easily, and are non sticky, but due to the high pigmentation they’re not suitable for lip-toppers but are a perfect alternative to lipsticks!

Price: £3.50 at e.l.f. Cosmetics.

Jelly Pong Pong – Play Paint – Velvety Lip/Cheek Cream

IMG_4563

A creamy, long wear tint that lasts a long time!

I haven’t heard much about this brand before, but I discovered them on Instagram and found their packaging adorable, so I decided to give their Play Paint a go!

They’ve packaged this multi-purpose cream as a paint tube, which also makes it easy to dispense and use. This cream is made with Pumpkin Seed Oil to help rejuvenate damaged skin and delicious Rhubarb extract to help further protect skin from moisture loss throughout the day.

This cream delivers long lasting colour without drying out, and blends out beautifully with the warmth of my finger tips to create a subtle blush – something which is often hard to find with cream products . By applying the cream colour with a lip brush I’ve been able to use it as a stunning lip stain which lasted for a good few hours even with drinking and eating.

I’ve also found this handy as a base colour for pink hued eyeshadow styles as the long wearing property of this cream colour is amazing for on the eyelids and prevents colour creasing.

Bottom Line: A stunning, multipurpose colour paint that blends really well!

Read My Lips – Pepsi Lip Balm – PR

IMG_4449

A novelty lip balm that is adorably cute!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Read My Lips for me to review for my followers – Please note I received this complimentary!

This is such a cute novelty lip balm, but I’m afraid that’s all this will be! This lip balm is more sticky than nourishing, and doesn’t smell or taste that much of Pepsi unlike the Lip Smackers I used to have.

IMG_4450

The lip balm is tacky and feels heavy as it sits on my lips, and the application is a bit messy due to the large shape. It wears off relatively fast, and you have to reapply it often – if that is you can stand the sticky feeling.

Bottom Line: A disappointing balm for a Pepsi fan.

Price: £2.00 at Primark

Seraphine Botanicals – Vegan Berry Tint – Liquid Blush – Cherry Cream

FullSizeRender (3)

A vivid, vegan tint that is a perfect day time lip stain.

I’ve not really heard much about Seraphine Botanicals, but I was intrigued by this vegan lip and cheek tint they have. It’s marketed as a “Vegan Berry Tint” and is cruelty free, made from 44.8% natural ingredients and is hypoallergenic. It contains no mineral oil, parabens or phthalates and is gluten free!

The colour payoff is very vivid, and is beautiful on the skin and can be blended out to a more muted colour as desired. Although I’m not too fond of tints for cheeks as I find they’re difficult to blend out and often leave the telltale application marks, but prefer to use them on my lips as I find tints are very hard wearing. This tint was no exception – it left the applicator marks no matter how much I blended it out using my fingers, a brush or a damp beauty blender.

This colour is a lovely bright red, that lasts for a long while on the lips. It’s perfect for days where you want to not have to worry about reapplying lipstick. I have found this is lovely to wear under a clear lip gloss, as you get a natural, casual look from the two. The applicator is a standard lipstick wand which makes application precise!

Bottom Line: A long wearing vegan stain that is perfect for natural lip looks!

Price: £12.99 at Seraphine Botanicals

Rating: *** (The blend-ability on cheeks is disapointing)

GERARD COSMETICS – HYDRA MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK – Mile High

Mile High

This is an amazingly easy to apply, long-lasting, creamy liquid lipstick!

This lipstick, has the ultimate staying power – giving a vivid lip mocha blush colour for at least 6 hours.

This lipstick is one of the easiest I’ve ever had to apply, and with just one dip it provides great coverage –  and it doesn’t smudge your already applied part causing it to go patchy! It lasted three re-coats before it got clumpy and started to flake. It can withstand eating and drinking to with only minimal touch up – I was able to devour a three course meal and it still looked presentable!

Bottom Line: Gerard Cosmetics have just created the holy grail of liquid lipsticks! Thoroughly worth the higher price due to the amazing quality and easibility of applying with the built in wand!

Benefit Cosmetics – Do The Hoola – Bronze Kit

IMG_1581

The ultimate kit for turning your winter in to a bronzed season!

I decided to buy this kit to keep my Rhodes glow into the cold, dreary winter months – and boy is it good!

This kit boasts a selection of travel and handbag friendly deluxe minis of the various best sellers and new Dew The Hoola products. In this kit you get the following:

The Hoola bronzer is a mini version of the standard one, with 3gms of product compared to the larger 8gms – but there’s still a lot of product in there. It’s a very travel friendly version as its a solid plastic case – rather than the flimsy plastic casing sometimes found on the mini deluxe versions, and comes with a cute brush! (Brush is sadly prone to having bristles fall out – boo!)

IMG_1595

The Benebalm is the deluxe version you get from Benefit’s mix and match which is usually around £5 on its own. The other Dew the Hoola items and the Hoola lip gloss are also deluxe mini sizes, which are perfect if you’re not too into bronzing but would just like to touch up a summer tan – or to trial before committing to a larger size with a higher price tag.

Bottom Line: Brilliant kit for trialling out the new Dew The Hoola range of bronzing items or composing a travel makeup bag.

Price: £24.95 from Benefit Cosmetics

Rating: **** (The brush bristles falling out on every use is a big no-no for me!)

L’Oreal Paris X Balmain – Color Riche Lipstick

IMG_1174

Bold, matte colour in twelve delicious shades!

As soon as I heard that Balmain was teaming up with the lipstick giant L’Oreal Paris I knew I had to get my hands on them! I decided to get three of the shades to start off my collection – I went with Confidence, Confession and Glamazone. These lipsticks are fully pigmented with added camelia oil to deliver a non-drying creamy matte lip.

Confidence is a rose gold shimmer matte lipstick which is absolutely stunning to add a hint of sparkle. Confession is a bold pinky red matte shade which is deliciously smooth. Glamazone is a dark, mauve brown that is beautiful for golden makeup looks.

The packaging is as couture as the shades – but what else would you expect from Balmain!?

Bottom Line: Charmingly cute solid perfume for on the go application.

Bourjois Paris – Rouge Velvet The Lipstick – Entire Collection Swatches and Review – PR

IMG_0739

A long-lasting, creamy, matte lipstick with a variety of beautiful shades.

I must firstly point out that I received these lipsticks for free, as complimentary items to review for my blog, and to provide a honest review of the item for my readers, courtesy of Bourjois Paris and Influenster.

I received the entire collection to swatch the lipsticks, and each shade has beautiful pay off and they’re all equally pigmented, with a shade to match every look!

IMG_0740

Each lipstick has a unique shaped tip for the easiest application I have ever had from a solid lipstick – I often find they’re too sharply shaped which is why I tend to go for liquid lipsticks, as the wands make it simpler to get a neat application in one swipe!

These lipsticks were surprisingly long lasting without a primer, and they stayed on my lips till the third course of my dinners whilst I was out before I had to re-apply. I did find it stayed on all night if I dusted on top and underneath with some translucent setting powder to prime and lock the lipstick in place.

IMG_0741

The only issue I had is that it’s rather creamy so it smudges easily during and after application, with a big portion of my lipstick ending up on my wine glass… Due to the creamy texture, I found that these we’re not drying on my lips at all!

Bottom Line: Overall – if you’re not a fan of liquid lipsticks, but still want a matte, creamy lipstick – then this is perfect for you. If you’re like me and prefer to have the smudge proof, perfect pout that liquid lipsticks deliver, then probably give these a miss unless you want a less, drying matte lipstick!

Price: £8.99 at Boots and all other Bourjois retailers!

OFRA – LONG LASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK – Angeles

FullSizeRender

An unbelievably creamy, high pigmented, fast drying liquid lipstick!

I first fell in love with OFRA’s lipsticks after trying Bel Air out after seeing the numerous Instagram swatches, so I decided to grab another shade from their collection. This liquid lipstick, just like their other ones, smells beautiful and reminiscent of Birthday Cake. It is a very rich and creamy formula, even though it contains micro shimmer, delivering full on colour from the first swipe. It dries quickly and delivers a long lasting, matte finish.

It’s a very light shade, but even so it delivers a clear, pigmented punch with every swipe of the applicator – which means that you don’t have to layer it on thick to get good colour pay off!

I have noticed with the OFRA liquid lipsticks that they can often clump after reapplication, but with a light dusting of translucent setting powder it allows layers to set properly and decrease the amount of clumping and buildup.

Bottom Line: This is a creamy, rich, easy to apply long lasting lipstick which is perfect for long summer days at the beach.
