REVOLUTION LONDON – Eyeshadow Palette – Foil Frenzy

92744E93-EE4B-409A-84BF-2084EEDD9A2C

This palette is my go to for any makeup looks where I want a foil finish – the wide variety of shades make it useful for numerous colour schemes. The quality is superb, as always is from Revolution, especially considering the price point.

The shadows are easy to use, and best applied like other foils, by using your finger to get instant pigmentation and the unmistakable foil finish. You can use these shadows with a brush, either wet or dry, but they do not have the same appearance when applied.

Bottom Line: Amazing quality, pigmentation, quickly became my makeup bag staple for foil shadows.

Fenty Beauty – Instant Retouch Primer – Santorini Sephora Haul

A37AB932-F548-40E2-B2A6-DBC27FB26E64

A new supreme reigns!

Well, as I said to the lady I was looking for a primer to rival the Fenty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch when I purchased the Benefit Pore Score set, and I’ve decided nothing can compare to the real deal. Rihanna has stepped up the beauty game – and she’s winning. I bought this as part of my Sephora haul in Fira, Santorini – for my entire haul you can view it on my Instagram, or to see my Santorini travels, click here!

F2A23614-C903-4323-9BD7-F754A47FD731

Where do I begin? This primer is soft, moisturising, and keeps my makeup matte all day – without drying out my skin. One thing that I admire about the formula is how a little goes a long way, and it doesn’t sink into pores or fine lines. It’s easy to apply via sponge or fingers, I find its hard to apply with a brush as it causes the bristles to bunch up making application streaky.

The formula is creamy as if a moisturiser – and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin or has that awful silicon texture. It doesn’t cause your foundation to peel or shift as its applied as it dries quickly and forms its priming layer so the two never mix. It’s mattifying and helps combat my oily T-Zone. It’s a shame I tried to buy other primers like the Benefit Pore-fection, as I wish I bought this one sooner!

Bottom Line: Bin your old primer – this one is the one to rule them all.

BECCA Cosmetics – Volcano Goddess – Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_0080

A stunningly beautiful palette of vivid, metallic and matte shades to unleash your inner Goddess.

I stumbled upon this palette whilst on Instagram, and I couldn’t believe the array of colours that were in this palette. BECCA have captured a Volcanic eruption perfectly – the deep reds, the light beige with the smokey greys and black.

I’ve seen BECCA on Instagram a lot, and in awe of their ability to create a natural glow and vivid shades, so I just had to get this one. I am so glad I did.

IMG_0061

If you follow me on Instagram you would know I crushed hard on this palette, its my go to for a bit of empowering glam. The multitude of shades allow me to create unique looks every time and dare me to be braver with each look!

The formula is creamy, with little to no fallout after a Jeffree Star-esque brush tap to remove excess, and the pigmentation is very vivid – a little goes a long way making this a perfect build up the shade palette.

The shades are punchy, but can be honed for a subtle eye look or you can create a strong, empowering eye look. This is definitely a palette everyone should have in their collections, it is simply stunning.

Bottom Line: One of the prettiest palettes I have ever bought!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS – The Complete Daytime Collection– Limited Edition PR Mailer Kit

IMG_1493

I was over the moon when I found that Anastasia Beverly Hills were selling their PR mailer kit on their website due to having limited quantities left – that I just had to get it!

IMG_1495This mailer kit had the entire Daytime collection included for £51 – an absolute bargain when the palette alone is £33, and their liquid lipsticks are £20 a pop! Plus you get these cute Hailie Barber style sunglasses, so it was love at first sight for me!

They also sold the Sunset collection in the complete mailer kit for £49 – so you could grab the entire lot for £100! I decided to stick with just the Daytime collection as I prefer the shade selection and found I would have more use with it!

IMG_1494

The eye shadow quad contains the shades; Sunny, Sand Castle, Rose Quartz and Papaya (clockwise from top left), in the usual Anastasia single eye shadow format. Sunny and Rose Quartz are metallic shades with delicious pigmentation, low fallout, whereas Sand Castle and Papaya are matte which are wonderful as a base or adding dimension.

The palette is reusable as the single shade format means you can mix and match and customise the quad for travel needs or for an easy to carry compact for a night out. The palette is a pale pastel pink with a clear lid so you can clearly see the shades in the palette, as well as a stunning palm tree decor.

IMG_1550
The liquid lipsticks are both metallic and come in the shades Bellini,, a golden peach shade, and Sunset Punch, a dusty mauve.

Their packaging is different to the usual black and rose gold liquid lipsticks, with the lids being the same pale pink as the palette. Although the packaging is different, the lipstick applicator is the same as their other ones so its very easy to use.

I generally stick to matte lips – but these metallic shades are so delicious to layer on top of a nude A.B.H matte such as Crush or Pure Hollywood to add a bit of metal glamour. The formula isn’t clumpy or bitty which is often the case with anything metallic, these instead are as smooth as their matte shades.

Bottom Line: If you’re an A.B.H fan who is into peachy, golden sunny vibes – these are for you!

Fujifilm Camera – Instax Mini 9 – Smokey White – Early Birthday Present! Yay!

Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 with Protective Case

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 9 – A stunning, self printing camera to capture images in an instant!

As it is my birthday at the end of the month, I really wanted to have an Instax Mini camera and my boyfriend was lovely enough to get me one. I decided to go for the Smokey White version as its a light grey and totally my kinda colour! I chose to get the Instax Mini 9, as it is a more recent model that has a built in selfie mirror, as well as better Hi-Def functions.

I decided to get the camera plus 20 snaps, which included two packs of its film. This Fujifilm camera takes film in 10 photos packs, which are around £10 each to buy off of Amazon, or the value packs are £17-£25 depending on how much film you want to get. The camera itself retails for around £65, which is cheap compared to other modern film cameras. As the camera only holds 10 shots per film pack, its works out to be an average of 70p-£1 per snap – which is quite expensive for a photo that is 2″ x 3″, but it’s great for taking special pictures for mementos rather than taking a constant record of the night.

Instax Mini 9 Camera in Smokey White

The reason why I wanted an Instax camera for my birthday was because I happened to play around with one whilst out on a Hen do. It was being used by a Bridesmaid to capture the events during the night – such as our cocktails from the masterclass, our celebratory meals, as well as everyone’s special moments from the night. It seemed like the perfect way to capture the special night – and I wanted to have one to capture my special moments during my birthday!

To add a cuteness level to my camera, I couldn’t help but by a Bear themed carry case/bag for it! I just loved the little face poking out!

Bottom Line: A fun, novelty camera to capture special moments or artistic instant prints!

Price: £69.99 with 10 shots @ Amazon.co.uk

Elegant Touch – Press On Nails – Nail Guards – Protective Nail Strips

IMG_7087

A easy and affordable way to save your nails from damage!

As you would have seen from my previous Elegant Touch review – I am an avid fan of press on nails. They’re easy to use, make me feel like a #girlboss, and make my hand held photos look on fleek! But with the use of press on nails comes the risk of nail damage from the glue – but to prevent this, Elegant Touch released these nail guards!

These nail guards are a thin, plastic sticker cover that you apply to your nails before the press on nail application. They act as a sheath to protect your nails as the glue doesn’t penetrate through them. This makes the nails easier, and safer to remove – which is handy if you’re workplace doesn’t allow false nails but you’d like to have them done for a special occasion! To remove them, all you have to do is use a cuticle pusher to flip up the edge of the fake nail to pop it off! So easy!

Bottom Line: Making removing faux nails simpler, easier, and quicker with less damage to your nails!

Price: £3.95 at all high-street retailers.

Makeup Revolution – Brow Pomade – Blonde

IMG_7707

A pigmented, easy to blend brow pomade to get your brows on fleek!

Recently I decided to change colour of my brow pomade to something lighter for the Summer months as my hair has gone lighter and my previous Anastasia Beverly Hills DipBrow pomade was getting too dark. I found this look-alike pomade from Makeup Revolution when I bought the stunning Abracadabra pressed glitter palette!

When comparing the consistency of the pomade compared to the DipBrow, they’re very similar – they’re both highly pigmented so a lot goes a long way, and their very easy to blend to allow for a flawless brow transition. If you’re looking for a temporary shade, then I do recommend this brow pomade, as it’s a very good dupe of the cult favourite ABH DipBrow. But, if you’re looking to get one for long-term use I’d recommend investing in the DipBrow, as its longevity is astounding.

IMG_7706

One thing I’ve noticed is for a blonde shade it is close to a medium brown in ABH terms, but due to the limited 6 shades Makeup Revolution has compared to the 11 shades that ABH boast, make sure you do a colour check in store to get the closest match! Plus side – this one is vegan!

What I do love from this kit is the brush that you get included – it doesn’t look like much but its a handy, on the go, applicator which isn’t half bad considering the actual cost of this pomade! It comes with an angled brush end, and a flat brush end, the latter of which is perfect for cleaning up the brow with concealer!

Bottom Line: Amazing quality, pigmentation, and a brilliant DipBrow dupe at a fraction of the cost!

Elegant Touch – Press On Nails – Power Trip – Dusty Rose Sassiness

IMG_6923

Feel like a boss, at a fraction of the cost!

As someone who used to spend £70 a month minimum on having shellac and my nails done – I cannot believe how much money I have now saved by learning how to give proper manicures to myself, and how to safely apply press on nails!

These packs – which you can find in most supermarkets and high street beauty stores – have become a must buy in my monthly shops to add a bit of self-love to my nails. I get an instant confidence boost from them. Plus I feel like a total boss when my nails are all done up, cuticles looking cute and I’m making those sassy tip taps on my phone whilst tweeting. Do you follow me on Twitter? I’m hilarious!…

IMG_6932

For the fraction of the price of a salon visit, I’m able to do my nails on a weekly to fortnightly basis depending on my work without having the trouble of making an appointment around my busy schedule. I can’t have falsies on for my job so I can pick and choose when to apply and remove.

These sets include 24 nails, in 10 different sizes to help you get the best fit. They also include glue, nail tabs which are a less permanent way to affix them if you don’t want to use the glue, and a file to help buff and shape. These are perfect if you want to have Instagram ready nails for a holiday away in the sun, or for a glamorous event!

I love having these sets as they’re so easy to remove, you just soak in acetone nail varnish remover and pop off. With the help of the Elegant Touch Nail Guards – I’m able to safely remove the nails without damaging my nails as they act as a barrier between the glue and my nails! Elegant Touch have also recently improved their nail structure to make them more flexible so you get less ping off, and sturdier nails.

Bottom Line: If you want a quick, glamorous manicure, without the trip to the salon and high prices – these are for you!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Lip Gloss – Moon Jelly

IMG_7712
A galactic shimmer with a delicious, silky texture.

I decided to splurge on a few new lip glosses for the summer months where matte lips feel too drying, so I picked this one up when I got my ABH Prism palette.

This gloss is a clear base with a blue/violet shimmer, it’s not that subtle as you can see the colour reflect in low direct light – but it is lovely to add a bit of colour to your makeup looks whether worn alone, or on top of a colour. I like to use this when I have done a nude, soft every day makeup look as it adds a pop of colour which isn’t as over the top as full matte colours have – just a quirky extra!

IMG_7711

The formulas of Anastasia lip glosses has to be, hands down, one of my favourite. For a start they all smell like vanilla/cake – yummmmy! The silkiness of their application is as delicious as the scent. These lip glosses are non-sticky, smooth and sleek on the lips. Although they smell delicious – thankfully they don’t have the same taste otherwise I’d be licking my lips constantly. This gloss lasts a long time without re-application, unlike other glosses I’ve used which wear out in an hour.

I generally stick to matte lips – but this lip gloss has been a godsend in this heat in providing my lips some added moisture and protection from dry prune, lips I usually get!

Bottom Line: Add a bit of galactic coolness to your looks this summer with this non-sticky, silky lip gloss!

Makeup Revolution – Pressed Glitter Palette – Abracadabra

IMG_7708

A magical collection of pressed glitter goodness!

Can I start by saying wow! I rarely find a pressed glitter palette that I must get – usually I’m put off by the formulas or the fact you can’t purchase them from a reputable UK registered companies. Anything regarding glitter makes me dubious – is it cosmetic grade? Can you use it near your eyes? Is it safe?

Ensuring my products are safe and up to the cosmetic requirements is something I hold very important – if the glitter isn’t cosmetic grade it could be small pieces of plastic or metal that can cause damage to your eyes and skin – something that I do not take lightly! Look after yourselves and only buy from reputable sellers! With that in mind, I was stoked to hear that Makeup Revolution was releasing some new glitter palettes which I just had to get my hands on!

IMG_7709

Out of the three, this is the one that caught my eye the most and I knew I just had to have it in my collection! The vivid shades of Alchemy and Superstition just drew me in and I was sold at Witchcraft. Plus you know I’m a sucker for anything witchy!

The glitters are stunning, easy to use and stick well with the use of a glitter glue/primer. I’ve been using mine with the Nyx Glitter Primer, and been having minimal fallout with enough wear for an evening – approximately 4-5 hours of wear before they start to wear off. I have yet to try it with another glue/primer so it could all be down to that.

IMG_7710

The glitter particles are a good size, not too large or small so they’re perfect for contouring into the eyelid without creating a solid panel – but rather a flexible coating which decreases the awkwardness some glitters can have when worn.

What I love is the variety of colours – making it easier to use for multiple looks. They do offer two other pressed glitter palettes in a less diversified colours with a golden colour scheme and a burgundy red scheme.

Bottom Line: The vividness of the colours, along with the duochrome glimpses of Hocus Pocus have me under it’s spell!
