My Beauty Must Haves – What’s In My Kit? – 2022

A new year marks the start of a new collection.

As you can see from my blog, my beauty and skincare goals have evolved as the years go on – taking bits from different trends to create my own favourite style.

I decided with us entering a brand new year I would declutter my makeup bag – out with the old  – and probably expired! – in with the new products to rejuvenate my zest for makeup.

Also probably saving my skin from an abundance of breakouts – please remember to adhere to expiry dates and use by on your cosmetics your skin will thank you!

To start, I sat down and thought about what I would like from my make up kit – did I want full coverage? Sheer coverage? Was I looking for subtle or bold colours? Drugstore or Premium? Did I want my routine to be a quick 15minutes or a self indulgent few hours? From here I was able to decide on my new ultimate kit!

First I wanted a new bag for my new items, so I decided to kill two birds and buy some new mini brushes from Spectrum Collections as their ‘The High Flyer’ collection is half price at £25 and includes an adorable light pink and rose gold case. Use that link for an extra 15% off.

I made up my mind and wanted my new kit to offer me sheer coverage with subtle bronzer and blush, but products that I could easily build up coverage in case I needed fuller coverage. This is what I bought to suit my new look;

I’ll be showing off my new makeup over the upcoming weeks on my Instagram as well as on here, so keep your eyes open for the in-depth reviews!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS – Blush Kit Palette – Radiant

Anastasia’s beautiful foursome of stunning blusher shades.

After falling in love with Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Modern Renaissance and their contour palette, I decided to snap this palette up when I bought their Sugar Glow Kit. I’m so glad I did! I was umm-ing and arr-ing about which one to get seeings as they have a large amount of shades of blush to choose from in their triplet sets, but I decided to grab this Blush Kit to get the quad of colours.

This kit boasts an array of pink and coral hues with added shimmer! The best thing about these shades is the fact you can mix them together to create your own peachy summer glow, or your own Barbie Pink blush.

The powdered blush are so easy to blend and apply, you can really customise your shade by layering the different blushes or use them stand-alone. They’re also very pigmented, as with most of the Anastasia Beverly Hills cosmetics!

Bottom Line: The colours are gorgeous and the powder formula is so easy to use and blend!

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS – Eye Shadow Palette – Subculture

Anastasia’s grungiest, rock chick themed eye shadow palette.

After the critically acclaimed Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, they’ve decided to create an on trend Grunge-esque palette called Subculture! I instantly fell in love with Modern Renaissance so knew immediately I had to get my hands on Subculture!

The palette is an on-trend look at the alternative colours that are taking the makeup world by storm, boasting an eclectic collection of duo-chromatic shades, shimmer and matte. The shade Cube is a white base with pink reflect which is absolutely stunning on top of All Star! It has a beautiful golden shade called Adorn, and a wonderfully bright yellow shade New Wave.

But, the colours might be beautiful but my God, the blend-ability of these shadows is atrocious! One of my favourite points about the Modern Renaissance is how easily the creamy shadows blend – which Subculture has sadly not replicated. The shadows are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way – but to blend that colour out takes AGES! Honestly, it takes a couple of minutes just to basically blend it out.

The shadows have a high levels of fallout, and just by gently touching the shadows – there is already a massive dent in them – so I have a feeling with daily use, I will be hitting pan quicker than expected! BUT – a little goes a long way, its just a shame the shadows lose all integrity the moment you lightly touch it and start falling everywhere.

Bottom Line: The colours are gorgeous but the formula has made these incredibly hard to work with – which is very disappointing considering the commercial success for Modern Renaissance!

Sugary sweet glow! This is a gorgeously cute highlighter palette.

As you know, I have an obsession with Anastasia Beverly  Hills glow kits, so as soon as this became available I had to get my hands on it – and I am so glad that I did.

These highlighters are a cute collection of pale pink, white pearl, duo-chrome lilac and honey golden glows. As with the other Anastasia Beverly Hills, these highlighters are highly pigmented, and can achieve build-able glow allowing you to go from subtle glow to “I’m a sugar coated unicorn” whenever you want!

They apply easily wet or dry, and can achieve beautiful finishes either way with unique intensities. I’m honestly in awe of how adorable this palette is!

Bottom Line: If you’re in to pale pink highlights – this is one that you will need!

Amazing quality and value – a little highlight goes a long way!

I decided to get this palette as I’m a huge ABH Glow Kit fan, ever since I glanced at one in Sephora! This one is the same high quality, and high pigmented that is standard for ABH cosmetics.

The colours are all pastel, with some duo-chromatic shades such as Blue Ice. They’re amazing to use as highlights or as some light, shimmery eye-shadows. The shades are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way, and can create unique galactic looks.

Bottom Line: An amazing glow kit for out of this world highlight – but sadly I’m still obsessed with my Nicole G kit and prefer that for day-to-day glow!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dipbrow Pomade – Medium Brown

A silky smooth brow pomade that glides on easily with intense pigmentation in every stroke!

Everyone has seen those video tutorials on how to get your brows on fleek and they usually have this one thing in common – this product. So is the hype real? In a sense – yes. Let me explain why!

This is a very creamy, easy to use brow pomade that glides on with every stroke. It blends easily with either an eyebrow brush or spooley to create that “on fleek” eyebrow fade. It doesn’t go patchy like other pomades I have tried, and delivers a consistent colour – and a lot goes a long way! I’ve used this product every day for the past week and I’ve not even made a dent in it.

So why have I questioned whether the hype is real? You see, it takes a lot of time and practice to create your fleeky eyebrows. Be hesitant in buying this if you want it just to get instant on trend eyebrows – you are going to have to practice til you get it perfect unless you have been born with the innate skills! (If you do, I’m so jealous – but yasss slay!)

The packaging is reminiscent of other pomades I have bought – its neatly presented in a clear glass jar with a black, screw on lid which is emblazoned with the Anastasia Beverly Hills iconic logo in a delicious rose gold shade.

Bottom Line: Amazing quality and value for money – as with all Anastasia Beverly Hills products a little goes a long way!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Glow Kit – Nicole Guerriero

The ultimate summer glow kit is here! And it’s Limited Edition!

Wow! This is by far my favourite highlighting palette at the moment. The colours and glow are perfect for hot summery days at the beach!

This kit boasts an array of golden browns and cute pink sand shades, as well as a piercing white with blue reflect! The best thing about these shades is the fact you can mix them together to create your own peachy summer highlight, or your golden goddess glow! Forever Young and Kitty Kat are my favourites to mix at the moment!

Bottom Line: Amazing quality and value – a little highlight goes a long way!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Cream Contour Kit – Fair

An easy blend-able contour kit that is perfect for all different contoured looks from slightly sun-kissed to deeply bronzed.

This is my first ever high-end contour kit, and it is now a staple for all of my foundation and contour needs. I decided to get the kit in fair, to ensure that it isn’t too dark as I rarely do strong contouring for my daily MOTD.

This kit comes with six shades, meaning you can blend the shades for the perfect match;

  • Soft Light – Great for highlighting.
  • Lustre – Perfect for strobing.
  • Fair – Great for concealing.
  • Fawn – Ideal for contouring.
  • Shadow – Designed for shading.
  • Mink – Provides the ultimate shading and definition.

The cream consistency makes it incredibly easy to blend, allowing you to create a build-able contour for whatever your style. It isn’t oily to apply, and doesn’t oxidise – meaning the colours stay the correct shade and doesn’t turn you into a bright orange oompa-loompa!

There is a lot of product in the pans – which makes it feel good value for money, and these kits come in various shades to match any skin tone.

Bottom Line: Amazing quality and value – a little goes a long way!
