LILY ENGLAND – Makeup Brushes – 5 Piece Eye Makeup Brush Set Marble and Rose Gold – PR

FullSizeRender_1

A stunning eye brush set with gorgeous rose gold accent!

I received these brushes complimentary from the amazing folks at Lily England to try out and review for you lovelies!

As you know, I am obsessed with anything rose gold, and even splurged out on the huge Holy Grail Marbleous Brushes from Spectrum Collections, so I was very eager to try these out and see if they’re as good as they look!

In this set you get five brushes they’ve called the ‘Ultimate Eye Set’. The five brushes you get are:

  • E1 – Luxe Crease Brush
High performance fluffy brush for blending eye shadows in the crease of the eye
  • E2 – Shadow Brush
Designed for gently blending and layering powder shadows over eyelid
  • E3 – Contour Shader
Angled shader brush to fit the contours your eyes-perfect for creating dramatic looks
  • E4 – Angled Brow Brush
Define your brows with powder or liquid makeup. Featuring densely packed slanted bristles for precision application
  • M1 Multi-Tasker
Flat brush designed to meet multiple needs, use with concealer to camouflage or on eyes with cream shadows

After using their four piece face brush set you can see the quality that Lily  England ensure their products have, and its the same with these brushes. They’re soft, and high quality – with no bristles falling out on a deep clean – which I always use as a sign of brushes quality as you want something that won’t fall apart after deep cleans! Oh, and they’re VEGAN!

The brushes were able to pick up my eye shadows with little ease – which helps make the colour control easier and allows better control over the blending. They were easy to use on my Modern Renaissance and Subculture palettes from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Sadly they didn’t help prevent the dreadful fallout from the Subculture palette….

They’ve preformed as well as my usual Spectrum Brushes, and out-preformed my Eco Tool’s brushes – so if you’re on a budget – these are your ultimate tools! Or if you want a set for travel, these are unbelievable to have in your on the go bag!

Bottom Line:  Sturdy, budget friendly, stylish vegan brushes that can tackle any eye shadow formula with ease and create eyebrows on fleek!

Price: £20.00 at Lily England.

LILY ENGLAND – Makeup Brushes – 4 Piece Face Makeup Brush Set Marble and Rose Gold – PR

FullSizeRender

A beautifully soft brush set that is on trend with the rose gold and marble hype!

In this set you get four brushes they’ve called the ‘Complete Face Set’. The four brushes you get are:

  • F1 – Powder Brush
Large and fluffy, a great all rounder for powder, bronzer, blusher or loose powder foundations
  • F2 – Complexion Foundation Brush
Domed brush for buffing and blending liquid, powder or stick foundations for an air-brushed finish
  • C1 – Contour Brush
Designed to create the perfect contours with powder or cream products
  • C2 – Sculpt & Glow Brush
Tapered brush head perfect for highlighting, setting powder or use in the hollows of your cheek to contour for facial sculpting

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of these brushes – these are on par with my Spectrum brushes! They’re soft, and high quality – with no bristles falling out on a deep clean – which I always use as a sign of brushes quality as you want something that won’t fall apart after deep cleans! Oh, and they’re VEGAN!

These brushes blended out my foundation, concealer and contour with minimum ease, which is hard to find with certain brushes as I use a mix of liquid, cream and powder formulas! Same goes for the blusher brush – it worked with my Zoeva blusher as well as my cream M.A.C. blushers.

They’ve preformed as well as my usual Spectrum Brushes, and out-preformed my Eco Tool’s brushes – so if you’re on a budget – these are your ultimate tools! Or if you want a set for travel, these are unbelievable to have in your on the go bag!

Bottom Line:  Sturdy, budget friendly, stylish vegan brushes that can tackle any makeup formula with ease to create blended contour on point!

Anastasia Beverly Hills – Brow Pen – Long-Wearing Eyebrow Tint

IMG_7226

It’s a shame the only good thing about this is the packaging…

So after being a huge ABH fan I saw a tutorial on Instagram that used this. It looked amazing! I’ve had this on my ‘Must Buy’ list and took advantage of the amazing deals Beauty Bay were having, and finally got this!

I’m so unbelievably disappointed by this product. The video, posted by ABH themselves, showed it off to be the ultimate felt tip pen style brow tint – delivering bold and highly pigmented strokes to create and style your brows. What did I end up with? A limp pen that left watery and dim lines that hardly defined anything…

I’m so devastated by this – it was £17, hardly cheap – and it leaves so much more to be desired. The one saving grace of this item, aside from the amazing packaging (what do you expect – its Anastasia Beverly Hills after all), is the fact I now use this for a “not so done” natural eyebrow look rather than filling it in as it does deliver a long lasting tint.

Bottom Line: Doesn’t deliver a defined stroke, but good for a more natural, slightly styled eyebrow look.

Price: £17 at BeautyBay.com.

Spectrum Collections Brushes – Marbleous 12PC Set – White and Rose Gold

img_5114

These Spectrum brushes have a lovely rose gold accent and are incredibly soft!

I managed to snap these beautiful brushes back in the Cyber Friday deal at Spectrum Collections. They come in a 12 piece set which includes; an angled foundation brush, a luxe powder brush, a flat top contour and a luxe tapered sculptor.

The brushes have a white handle with a beautiful rose gold ferrule, with the bristles having a gorgeous white to grey gradient. The bristles are incredibly soft, and feel wonderful to use. They’re very easy to clean using a brush cleanser and a silicon brush cleaning mat. I can clean all of mine in around 5 minutes, which has made my cleaning routine a lot quicker!

img_5076

These brushes are vegan, and incredible quality. I haven’t found any fallen out bristles yet!

They apply my makeup smoothly and blend my contours perfectly. The eye shadow fluffy brushes pick up the perfect amount of pigment. I can’t believe I used to use a beauty sponge for everything! These brushes have revolutionised my makeup routine!

Bottom Line:  Extremely soft, beautifully finished brushes which make applying makeup easier with a flawless finish!!

Love Me Beauty – November 2016 – Edit

img_5247

This month’s collection included brands such as Kat Von D, BareMinerals, Make Up For Ever, Nuxe and Eco Tools.

I decided to treat myself to a deluxe version of Kat Von D’s Everlasting Lipstick in Outlaw again – needed another one for my handbag! This amazing treat was only 20 credits! They also had Kat Von D’s Studded Kiss in Magick and her Tattoo Liner in Trooper. These two were also 20 credits so if I chose to I could have had a lovely makeup back stocked up with these three treats.

For my other beauty treats I decided to get the Eco Tools Makeup Brush Cleansing Cloths and the Eco Tools Blending Brush! These cloths are perfect for a quick post makeup application clean or if you’re switching eye shades, but not a suitable alternative to deep cleansing your brushes!

I also opted in for two deluxe samples of some BareMinerals products, including their Lash Domination and Skinlongevity.

Other items on the shop for this edit that I opted out on were Benefit’s Porefessional primer and Roller Lash mascara, Tangle Teezer’s Thick Hair Brush, Make Up For Ever’s Artist Rouge Mat lipstick and Aqua XL Matte Black Liner, Nuxe’s skincare collection. You can shop the edit’s full boutique here!

#MOTD: Panic! At The Disco

img_4766

This is my makeup I wore to see Panic! at the Disco at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff!

I started off by tackling my eyebrows – I used my Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark to define and shape, and set my brows with the Ready! Set! Brow! clear gel – I’ve stopped using my L’Oreal Brow Artist brow gel when I’m drawing my eyebrows more defined.

For my eyes I did a gold cut crease over a grey smokey eye using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. For my crease I used Tease from my Naked 2 and blended out – I love using this shade to add warmth to my smokey eyes – and went over with Pistol and Blackout. I cut my crease using my NYX Concealer Jar in CJ01 – Porcelain, which helps define the cut of my crease and eyelid. I layered over the concealer my favourite shade from the Naked 2 – Bootycall!

img_4947

I then used my Kat Von D Ink Liner in trooper to do wings, and added my false eyelashes – as I didn’t want to go over the top for my gig with large eyelashes,  so I used my subtle Fleur de Force 3/4 lashes from Eylure. I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies.

I did my usual; for my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. I used my Bourjois’ Blur The Lines concealer in Ivory under my eyes and as my highlighter. I used Bourjois’ Mat Illusion Bronzer in Hale Clair to define and contour my cheekbones and nose. I set my concealer and foundation using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. To add my glow, I used my NYX Strobe of Genius palette in the light gold to highlight  along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is from my Sleek Makeup Matte Me Mini Collection – in the shade Birthday Suit! I then finished off using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
