URBAN DECAY – Blush, Bronzer and Highlight Palette – Sin Afterglow Palette

IMG_6729

A sparkly collection of blusher, bronzer and highlights!

So I got this recently as I wanted an all in one palette to take on my travels to save me carrying a load of compacts/kits in my makeup bag. The colours weren’t anything special, which is sad from a brand as innovative as Urban Decay. I feel they played it safe with the release of this palette – but by doing so it creates an everyday staple.

In this palette you get six shades; A matte rose pink – Kiss Off, a sparkly peach pink – Score, a matte universal tan brown – Paranoid, a glittery rose-gold/brown –PSA, a peach gold highlight – Spotlight, and finally a champagne highlight – Sin.

Although the colours are run of the mill standard blushes, bronzers and highlights – I have to commend them on their formula. They’re easy to use, blend and apply – no fallout and easy to build up colour to create the look that you want. I wouldn’t say they’re a buttery powder, they’re as Urban Decay say – ultra-lightweight due to their afterglow formula.

A little goes a long way so I’m very glad from a value for money side of things. They’re also very long lasting. Urban Decay say they should last up to 8 hours. I’ve worn them for 6 hours without a primer or setting spray and not seen them wear off!

Bottom Line: If you want to have a blush, highlight and contour palette in one and love Urban Decay formula – this is for you, but the shades aren’t revolutionary!

URBAN DECAY – UDXKL – KRISTEN LEANNE COLLABORATION – KALEIDOSCOPE EYESHADOW PALETTE

IMG_5033

Oh my, such an electric collection of glittery stunning shades!

As you’ve seen from my Beauty Beam palette and Daydream palette – I am completely obsessed with this Kristen Leanne and Urban Decay collaboration!

I decided I had to complete my palette collection and splash out on something outside of my usual, neutral, not too flashy palettes – so I decided to grab this beauty! This palette contains a wide range of shimmering, rainbow colours to create a magnitude of looks!

IMG_5034

In this palette you get a creamy collection which boasts a vibrant pink, an electrifying purple and a stunning gold to name a few. The shades are names after Kristen’s favourite things such as Corona, Tajin and Dye – the latter being a homage to her Arctic Fox company that specialises in Vegan hair dye!

This palette is the complete opposite of her Daydream collection as it’s for more glam looks as it’s vibrant shades are jammed packed with shimmer and glitter. The shades build beautifully, allowing you to create beautiful and unique looks to which you’re able to customise the colour payoff.

As with the other eyeshadow palette, you get a vegan brush included that has a fluffy, blending end and then a stubby, compacted end to help create your looks!

Bottom Line: Oh my god, I am in love with the bright striking shades!

URBAN DECAY – UDXKL – Kristen Leanne Collaboration – Daydream Eyeshadow Palette

IMG_4529

A stunning collection of five shades to create dreamy day looks!

As you know from my Beauty Beam highlighter palette review from the new Urban Decay and Kristen Leanne collaboration, I was very excited for these palettes! I snapped up this Daydream palette so I had a one stop palette for day looks, as the neutral and muted tones are perfect for pretty, subtle day looks.

The packaging on this palette is adorable, with the front looking like pink frosting. The inside is a beautiful baby blue and teal, with pink roses – painting an adorable rose garden imagery.

The shades in this palette are all matte, and come in a variety of neutral base and transition shades with a lovely dark shade, Eight, that makes a wonderful eyeliner for days when I’m not wanting a dark cat eyeliner look.

Lucy is a beautiful, bright white shade for highlighting the brow bone and laying a foundation to make the other colours pop! Daydream is a stunning, all over base for eyelids to create definition. 12/12 is a stunning salmon pink matte shadow that is easy to build pigmentation on, whereas Subscribe is a light brown with yellow tone, that is perfect for defining your crease.

The other three shades are perfect for creating your own unique take with the shades – you can go pretty in pink with 12/12, bronzed goddess with Subscribe, or smokey siren with Eight. You can also use Eight to turn your day look into a night look.

With this palette you also get an adorable mini blue double ended brush to help you create your looks! One end is a fluffy, pointed blending brush whereas the other end is a stubby, fluffy brush to pack on the colour and blend it out.

Bottom Line: A quintet of beautiful, matte eye shadows to create dreamy, day ready looks.

Urban Decay – UDxKL – Kristen Leanne Collaboration – Beauty Beam Highlighter Palette

IMG_4466

This was the collaboration I was looking forward to the most this year!

Everyone who follows me on my social media will know I love Kristen Leanne – I even lost it when she liked my photos on Instagram.  So when this collaboration was announced on Kristen’s social media – I knew I had to own these. I was so, so psyched for this collaboration. As soon as these items hit the Urban Decay UK website, I placed my order – and I am so glad I did.

The first two items I ordered were this Beauty Beam highlighter palette and her Day Dream eyeshadow palette – I will be reviewing the latter soon. I am eager to get my hands on the Kaleidoscope palette but there has been a supply issue in the UK.

This palette is amazing as it is an all in one highlighter palette with three shades; a dark bronze highlight, a light gold highlight and a champagne gold highlight. Each shade is as shimmery as the next, and the colour payoff is immense. The bronze shade is perfect to define and contour and the light gold is perfect to highlight your cheekbones where as the softer nude champagne highlight is perfect for a subtler glow.

Bottom Line: A trio of creamy, shimmering highlights that will suit everyone’s look.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS – Eye Shadow Palette – Subculture

FullSizeRender

Anastasia’s grungiest, rock chick themed eye shadow palette.

After the critically acclaimed Modern Renaissance palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills, they’ve decided to create an on trend Grunge-esque palette called Subculture! I instantly fell in love with Modern Renaissance so knew immediately I had to get my hands on Subculture!

The palette is an on-trend look at the alternative colours that are taking the makeup world by storm, boasting an eclectic collection of duo-chromatic shades, shimmer and matte. The shade Cube is a white base with pink reflect which is absolutely stunning on top of All Star! It has a beautiful golden shade called Adorn, and a wonderfully bright yellow shade New Wave.

But, the colours might be beautiful but my God, the blend-ability of these shadows is atrocious! One of my favourite points about the Modern Renaissance is how easily the creamy shadows blend – which Subculture has sadly not replicated. The shadows are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way – but to blend that colour out takes AGES! Honestly, it takes a couple of minutes just to basically blend it out.

The shadows have a high levels of fallout, and just by gently touching the shadows – there is already a massive dent in them – so I have a feeling with daily use, I will be hitting pan quicker than expected! BUT – a little goes a long way, its just a shame the shadows lose all integrity the moment you lightly touch it and start falling everywhere.

Bottom Line: The colours are gorgeous but the formula has made these incredibly hard to work with – which is very disappointing considering the commercial success for Modern Renaissance!
