When it comes to foundation, Yves Saint Laurent has long been a go-to brand for many beauty enthusiasts.
The YSL All Hours Foundation is no exception, promising a flawless finish and long-lasting wear. But is it worthy of this status?
The packaging of the All Hours Foundation is undeniably chic. With its sleek glass bottle and iconic YSL logo, it certainly makes a statement on any vanity.

The pump dispenser is a convenient feature, ensuring minimal product waste and easy application.
However, aesthetics aside, let’s dive into the product itself.
Applying the YSL All Hours Foundation is a breeze. The formula is lightweight, blending seamlessly into the skin.
Whether using a brush, sponge, or fingertips, the foundation glides on smoothly, offering medium to full coverage.
It effectively conceals blemishes and evens out skin tone, which is a major plus for anyone seeking a polished look.
YSL claims this foundation offers up to 24-hour wear. While I didn’t test it for a full day, it did hold up well during a busy workday. However, by the evening, I noticed some fading, especially around the T-zone. For those with oily skin, a setting powder or spray might be necessary to maintain the matte finish.
The finish of the YSL All Hours Foundation is semi-matte, which is ideal for those who prefer a natural look without excessive shine.
It feels comfortable on the skin, not too heavy or cakey. However, it may not be the best option for dry skin types, as it can cling to dry patches.
As a combination girlie – the oily t-zone and the dry patches made this foundation difficult to fix as different areas needed different solutions, making my touch-up kit become larger than normal.
This foundation offers a decent shade range for the All Hours Foundation, catering to various skin tones. Yet, there’s always room for improvement, especially for those on the deeper and very fair ends of the spectrum. It’s worth testing shades in person to find the perfect match as I did have a lot of trouble shade matching due to the misleading undertones.
Overall, the YSL All Hours Foundation is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable, high-end foundation. It excels in coverage and ease of application but falls short in terms of long-lasting wear for some skin types. At a higher price point, it’s essential to consider whether these benefits align with your needs.
Bottom Line: While the YSL All Hours Foundation didn’t quite blow me away, it didn’t disappoint either. It’s a dependable option for everyday use with a touch of luxury. If you’re on the hunt for a foundation that balances coverage and comfort, this might be worth a try…
