If you’re considering the YSL All Hours Foundation, here’s my honest review, including how it wears throughout the day, the finish on combination skin, and whether it’s actually worth it.
The YSL All Hours Foundation promises a flawless finish with long-lasting wear, but after properly testing it, I had a few thoughts. Here’s my honest review, from application to how it wears throughout the day.
First impressions, the packaging is exactly what you would expect from YSL. The sleek glass bottle and signature logo feel very elevated, and it definitely looks beautiful sitting on a vanity.

The pump dispenser makes it easy to control how much product you use, which is always a plus.
But beyond the aesthetics, it really comes down to how it performs on the skin.
Applying the YSL All Hours Foundation is genuinely effortless. The formula feels lightweight and blends into the skin really seamlessly.
Whether you use a brush, sponge or even your fingers, it applies evenly and builds nicely, giving medium to full coverage without feeling heavy.
It smooths over the skin well and evens everything out, which makes it a reliable option if you want that polished, put-together finish.
In terms of wear, YSL claims up to 24 hours. I didn’t test it quite that long, but through a full day it held up well overall. By the evening I did notice some fading, especially around my T-zone, so if you’re more on the oily side you will probably want to set it properly.
The finish sits somewhere between matte and natural, which makes it really wearable day to day.
It doesn’t feel heavy or cakey, and it wears quite comfortably on the skin. That said, if you have dry areas it can cling slightly, so skin prep does make a difference.
As someone with combination skin, I found this quite tricky to balance. My T-zone needed setting, while drier areas needed more hydration, which meant a bit more effort with touch-ups than I would usually like.
The shade range is fairly good, but I did find undertones slightly confusing when trying to match. If you can, I would definitely recommend testing it in person first.
How long does YSL All Hours Foundation actually last?
On my skin, it wears well for most of the day but isn’t completely transfer-proof or fade-proof. Expect to do a small touch-up by the evening, especially if you have combination or oily skin.
Is YSL All Hours Foundation worth it?
Overall, it’s a solid luxury foundation. It applies beautifully, looks refined on the skin and gives reliable coverage, but it isn’t completely flawless when it comes to long wear.
If you’re looking for something that feels elevated but still easy to wear day to day, this is a good option. If long wear is your main priority, you might find yourself needing a few touch-ups.
Bottom line: It didn’t completely wow me, but it also didn’t disappoint. It sits somewhere in the middle, which for some people will be exactly what they want.

If you’re considering the YSL All Hours Foundation, I would recommend trying it in person first if you can, just to make sure the shade and finish work for your skin.
It’s one of those products that really depends on your skin type.
