Bourjois Paris – Little Round Pot Blusher – Rose D’Or – PR

IMG_4562

A portable blusher pot that delivers good pigmentation without going overboard!

I must firstly point out that I received this blusher pot for free, as a complimentary item to review for my blog, and to provide a honest review of the item for my readers, courtesy of Bourjois Paris and Influenster.

I’ve been using these blusher pots since I started wearing makeup – and they’ve always been a staple in my makeup bag before I started buying premium. They do their job, and they do it well. With the wide range of colours that Bourjois offer, you’re sure to find a shade to match your tone and look. There’s numerous different finishes, with some containing shimmer and some being matte – so you can mix it up however you want!

Each pot comes with its own mirror and blusher brush – but the brush is prone to shedding but together with the mirror it is handy for on the go application for touch-ups. The one problem I find with these blushers is that over time they become hard to pick up on my blusher brushes, as if the product hardens and refuses to pick up no matter how hard I try.

Bottom Line: A cute, portable sized budget friendly blusher pot which does the job!

Price: £6.49 at Boots and all other Bourjois retailers!

Bourjois Paris – Rouge Velvet The Lipstick – Entire Collection Swatches and Review – PR

IMG_0739

A long-lasting, creamy, matte lipstick with a variety of beautiful shades.

I must firstly point out that I received these lipsticks for free, as complimentary items to review for my blog, and to provide a honest review of the item for my readers, courtesy of Bourjois Paris and Influenster.

I received the entire collection to swatch the lipsticks, and each shade has beautiful pay off and they’re all equally pigmented, with a shade to match every look!

IMG_0740

Each lipstick has a unique shaped tip for the easiest application I have ever had from a solid lipstick – I often find they’re too sharply shaped which is why I tend to go for liquid lipsticks, as the wands make it simpler to get a neat application in one swipe!

These lipsticks were surprisingly long lasting without a primer, and they stayed on my lips till the third course of my dinners whilst I was out before I had to re-apply. I did find it stayed on all night if I dusted on top and underneath with some translucent setting powder to prime and lock the lipstick in place.

IMG_0741

The only issue I had is that it’s rather creamy so it smudges easily during and after application, with a big portion of my lipstick ending up on my wine glass… Due to the creamy texture, I found that these we’re not drying on my lips at all!

Bottom Line: Overall – if you’re not a fan of liquid lipsticks, but still want a matte, creamy lipstick – then this is perfect for you. If you’re like me and prefer to have the smudge proof, perfect pout that liquid lipsticks deliver, then probably give these a miss unless you want a less, drying matte lipstick!

Price: £8.99 at Boots and all other Bourjois retailers!

#MOTD: Panic! At The Disco

img_4766

This is my makeup I wore to see Panic! at the Disco at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff!

I started off by tackling my eyebrows – I used my Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark to define and shape, and set my brows with the Ready! Set! Brow! clear gel – I’ve stopped using my L’Oreal Brow Artist brow gel when I’m drawing my eyebrows more defined.

For my eyes I did a gold cut crease over a grey smokey eye using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. For my crease I used Tease from my Naked 2 and blended out – I love using this shade to add warmth to my smokey eyes – and went over with Pistol and Blackout. I cut my crease using my NYX Concealer Jar in CJ01 – Porcelain, which helps define the cut of my crease and eyelid. I layered over the concealer my favourite shade from the Naked 2 – Bootycall!

img_4947

I then used my Kat Von D Ink Liner in trooper to do wings, and added my false eyelashes – as I didn’t want to go over the top for my gig with large eyelashes,  so I used my subtle Fleur de Force 3/4 lashes from Eylure. I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies.

I did my usual; for my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. I used my Bourjois’ Blur The Lines concealer in Ivory under my eyes and as my highlighter. I used Bourjois’ Mat Illusion Bronzer in Hale Clair to define and contour my cheekbones and nose. I set my concealer and foundation using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. To add my glow, I used my NYX Strobe of Genius palette in the light gold to highlight  along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is from my Sleek Makeup Matte Me Mini Collection – in the shade Birthday Suit! I then finished off using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

#MOTD: Stunt Lads

img_4689

This is my makeup I wore to a small family meal whilst I was back in Cardiff!

I started off by tackling my eyebrows – I used my Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark to define and shape, and set my brows with the Ready! Set! Brow! clear gel.

For my eyes I did a rose gold smokey eye, using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, my Clionadh Cosmetics highlighter, and my Sleek i-Divine Eye Palette in Storm. For my crease I used Tease from my Naked 2 and blended out – I love using this shade to add warmth to my smokey eyes. I used the shade Snow Storm to define my inner eye, and as a base for my eyelid and layered Perfect storm on my outer eye lid and blended the two together, to create a transition shade. I layered my Slaine highlighter from Clionadh on top to add the rose gold sparkle to it. I used my Kat Von D Ink Liner in trooper to do wings, and added my false eyelashes – as I didn’t want to go full haul for the meal I used my Fleur de Force 3/4 lashes from Eylure. I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies.

For my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. To add my glow, I used my Clionadh Cosmetics Llyr to highlight using both the pink and blue shade – as it matched my top, along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is from my Sleek Makeup Matte Me Mini Collection – in the shade Birthday Suit! As usual, I set it all using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

#MOTD – Gig time!

img_4366

This is my makeup I wore to see Bring Me The Horizon at the Bournemouth International Centre!

For my eyes I did a cut crease, as they’re my favourite at the moment, using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. For my crease I used Tease and blended out, and layered Busted over the top and blended that out too. I used the shade Blackout to define the outer corners, and to define my crease.

I whited out my eyelids using my NYX Concealer Jar in CJ01 – Porcelain, which helps define the cut of my crease and eyelid. I set the concealer using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. On top of my eyelid I used YDK and Verve– to create a silvery, pale pink shade. I used my Kat Von D Ink liner in Trooper to create a classic wing.

img_4362

I added my falsie, which were my Eylure x Fleur De Force Fleur Loves 3/4 lashes, full review here – these are my fave for not looking OTT! I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies. For my eyebrows I opted to draw them in, using my Benefit Goof Proof pencil in Dark, and my Ready, Set Brow! in clear.

For my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. I used my Bourjois’ Blur The Lines concealer in Ivory under my eyes and as my highlighter. I used Bourjois’Mat Illusion Bronzer in Hale Clair to define and contour my cheekbones and nose. I set my concealer and foundation using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. To add my glow, I used my NYX Strobe of Genius palette to highlight using the light shimmery shade, 4th shade clockwise from top left, along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is the amazing Studded Kisses by Kat Von D in Magick – I love this lipstick as it is a beautiful shade with a purple tint and glitter!! As usual, I set it all using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray and it lasted the entire gig!

#MOTD: Harley Quinn

img_4269

This is my makeup I wore for my Halloween shift in work – we were doing a fancy dress competition! Seeings as I’m the store manager of an entertainment and gaming store I decided to go as Dr Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.

For my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. I used my Bourjois’ Blur The Lines concealer in Ivory under my eyes and as my highlighter. I set my concealer and foundation using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. To add my glow, I used my NYX Strobe of Genius palette to highlight using the purple shimmery shade, 3rd shade clockwise from top left, along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

For my eyes I first used my Urban Decay eye shadow primer to ensure the shadows didn’t crease during my shift. I mainly used the pink and blues from my MUA Poptastic palette, which is £4 – available here.

Formy dark pink eye I used my Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick  in Outlaw and blended it out, and layered the bright pink shade from my MUA palette over it and blended that out too. I used all four blues in the MUA palette for my other eye, and blended them together to get the correct bright blue that Harley wears. I used my Kat Von D Inked Liner in Trooper to do a standard winged liner to add definition to my eyes, and used Benefit’s Badgal lash eyeliner on my waterline and lower lash line.

img_4256

I added my falsies – this time it was my EYLURE X CHERYL – Girls Night Strip lash – review here! I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to make my eyelashes blend. For my eyebrows I opted to not draw them in as Harley’s are more natural looking so instead I used L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Plumper in Dark to define and set them without going over top.

I used my Kat Von D Inked eyeliner in Trooper to draw my heart and ‘Rotten’ on to my face – both set with a fine brush and Blackout from my Naked 2 palette.

My lipstick is the ultimate matte lipstick my Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Outlaw – my  favourite blood orange/red shade. I set it all using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – to hold it all in place during my 9.5hr shift!

Found my Puddin!!!

#MOTD: Vamp

img_4172

This is my makeup I wore to my local quiz at Sixty Million Postcards – so excited my team came 4th out of 22!

For my eyes I did a cut crease, that wasn’t so darkly defined, using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. For my crease I used Tease and blended out, and layered Snakebite over the top and blended that out too. I used Blackout to define the outer corners. Using my NYX Concealer Jar in CJ01 – Porcelain, I cut my crease and eyelid, setting it using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. On top of my eyelid I used Bootycall – I’m currently obsessed with this shade – it is such a lovely glittery, pale gold shade.

I added my falsies – this time it was my Eylure x Fleur De Force Fleur Loves 3/4 lashes, full review here! I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to make my eyelashes blend. For my eyebrows I opted to not draw them in, instead I used L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Plumper in Dark to define and set them without going over top.

My lipstick is the amazing NYX Liquid Suede in Cherry Skies – my ultimate favourite shade. I set it all using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – I swear by this spray! It is so good for nights out or long days!

#MOTD: My Essential Products

img_3861

These are the products I cannot bear to live without, and are a constant staple in my makeup bag!

Starting off is my base. I always use NYX’s Angel Veil as my primer – it helps keep my makeup flawless and is a stable base. I have dry and combo skin, and I find it perfect for me – it does however leave a silicon type feel which might put others off. My foundation is NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat in Porecelain, and use NYX Dark Circle Concealer in Fair (which is a perfect Pixi Correction Concentrate Brightening Peach dupe!) under my eyes and on my eyelids. If I feel I need extra coverage I can always rely on Bourjois’ Healthy Mix and Blur The Lines concealer. The former is for light coverage days, and the latter is perfect for high coverage due to it’s thick creamy formula!

For my cheeks I’ll either use Benefit’s Rockateur or Bourjois’ Little Round Pot Blusher in Rose Frisson or Healthy Mix. I mix it up depending on my chosen lip colour and desired look. My highlighters change daily but they’re always from NYX’s Strobe of Genius palette. For more glam looks I use my Sleek’s Solstice Palette as I find that these are more pigmented – review of which you can find here.

For a daily look I go nude eyelids – or a rose gold if I’m feeling fancy – with black cat eyeliner for which I use Kat Von D’s Ink Liner in Trooper. I curl my lashes daily and use Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara on my top lashes and the Bourjois’ Volume Glam Ultra Curl on my lower lashes. I define my eyebrows using NYX’s Eyebrow Push Up Bra, as the colour is a universal match – so it suits everyone! I set them using L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Plumper, which is a fibre infused gel so it adds a bit more definition and volume as it sets!

To finish it all off I use my MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande 2 lipglass (review you can find here!), as it gives a subtle pink/mauve sheen or I use NYX Matte Lipstick in Sierra.
