Sleek Makeup – i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette – A New Day – ABH Soft Glam Dupe?!?

Firstly, massive THANK YOU! to Sleek Makeup for this huge haul for me to try out and review for my lovely followers!!!

IMG_6096.JPG

The first item I will be reviewing from this collection is their A New Day palette which is a stunning array of on-trend blushed neutrals, oranges and browns! Please note, I did receive this item complimentary from Sleek Makeup!

This palette boasts 12 neutral shades for you to mix and match to create your own subtle, glamorous looks which are on trend. You get warm brown shades to define and smoke out your looks, and beautiful light shimmer shades to help highlight and create halo looks.

Whilst I was using this palette I wasn’t surprised at the creaminess and the lack of fallout – Sleek Makeup eye shadow are brilliant value and great quality. I’ve always been excited when they release a new i-Divine! These eye shadows are creamy to apply, not dusty, blend well and are very pigmented considering their cost point! They also last a long while without eye shadow primer, so if you’re in a rush to get out the door these will stay put for hours without necessary prep time!

One thing that I did notice is how similar the palette it is to my Anastasia’s Beverly Hill’s Soft Glam palette which my boyfriend bought me. The colours are very similar, apart from the stunning foiled shadows and the brighter orange. The basic shadows are all the same hues, and can be built up to match the vividness of the ABH shadows, but there is a lack of pigmented, foiled shades to complete the Sleek palette.

This palette is perfect for matte, neutral looks but if you want more glamorous, showstopping with glitter on top shadows, then you’ll need to team it up with another palette!

Bottom Line: Lovely pigmented, great colour pay off eye shadows that are worth the price!

#MOTD: Panic! At The Disco

img_4766

This is my makeup I wore to see Panic! at the Disco at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff!

I started off by tackling my eyebrows – I used my Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark to define and shape, and set my brows with the Ready! Set! Brow! clear gel – I’ve stopped using my L’Oreal Brow Artist brow gel when I’m drawing my eyebrows more defined.

For my eyes I did a gold cut crease over a grey smokey eye using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. For my crease I used Tease from my Naked 2 and blended out – I love using this shade to add warmth to my smokey eyes – and went over with Pistol and Blackout. I cut my crease using my NYX Concealer Jar in CJ01 – Porcelain, which helps define the cut of my crease and eyelid. I layered over the concealer my favourite shade from the Naked 2 – Bootycall!

I then used my Kat Von D Ink Liner in trooper to do wings, and added my false eyelashes – as I didn’t want to go over the top for my gig with large eyelashes,  so I used my subtle Fleur de Force 3/4 lashes from Eylure. I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies.

I did my usual; for my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. I used my Bourjois’ Blur The Lines concealer in Ivory under my eyes and as my highlighter. I used Bourjois’ Mat Illusion Bronzer in Hale Clair to define and contour my cheekbones and nose. I set my concealer and foundation using my Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder in Transparent. To add my glow, I used my NYX Strobe of Genius palette in the light gold to highlight  along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is from my Sleek Makeup Matte Me Mini Collection – in the shade Birthday Suit! I then finished off using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

#MOTD: Stunt Lads

img_4689

This is my makeup I wore to a small family meal whilst I was back in Cardiff!

I started off by tackling my eyebrows – I used my Goof Proof Brow Pencil in Dark to define and shape, and set my brows with the Ready! Set! Brow! clear gel.

For my eyes I did a rose gold smokey eye, using my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette, my Clionadh Cosmetics highlighter, and my Sleek i-Divine Eye Palette in Storm. For my crease I used Tease from my Naked 2 and blended out – I love using this shade to add warmth to my smokey eyes. I used the shade Snow Storm to define my inner eye, and as a base for my eyelid and layered Perfect storm on my outer eye lid and blended the two together, to create a transition shade. I layered my Slaine highlighter from Clionadh on top to add the rose gold sparkle to it. I used my Kat Von D Ink Liner in trooper to do wings, and added my false eyelashes – as I didn’t want to go full haul for the meal I used my Fleur de Force 3/4 lashes from Eylure. I used my Urban Decay Perversion mascara to blend my natural lashes to the falsies.

For my foundation I used the NYX Angel Veil primer to prime my skin ready, and used my NYX Stay Matte Not Flat in Ivory as my base. To add my glow, I used my Clionadh Cosmetics Llyr to highlight using both the pink and blue shade – as it matched my top, along my cheekbones, nose, cupids bow and temples.

My lipstick is from my Sleek Makeup Matte Me Mini Collection – in the shade Birthday Suit! As usual, I set it all using my Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

Sleek MakeUP – Say The Magic Word – Mini Matte Me Collection

fullsizerender_11

The ultimate stocking filler for Matte lip makeup beauty addicts!

I’m an absolute sucker for Christmas present gift sets – every year is exactly the same. I go out shopping for other people – and somehow come home with goodies for myself from Boots’ 3for2 offer! This was one of my latest items in my “Xmas pressie to myself” haul.

In my defence, I was purposely looking to get this due to the incredible value! I’ve been eyeing up the Sleek Matte Me in ‘Birthday Suit’, as its the ideal dupe for Huda Beauty Liquid Matte in Bombshell! But as I was heading to the Sleek MakeUp display I stumbled upon this gift set that has a mini version of Birthday Suit in it, along with three other shades for just a £5!

These lipsticks are mini sized, all sporting 3ml of product – which makes them a lot more Clutch friendly for a night out!

They’re highly pigmented which makes them long wearing – even after my eating and drinking test – only had to reapply once during the whole evening.

Clockwise L-R: Sand Storm, Snow Storm, Calm Before The Storm, Thunder Storm, Perfect Storm, Firestorm, Blackout, Eye Of The Storm, Electric Storm, Storm Cloud, Gathering Storm, Dust Storm

A beautiful collection of highly pigmented, glittery shades!

This palette is beyond beautiful! Each shade is highly pigmented, and packed with glitter. There are twelve shades in total – nine of which are glittery and three matte. There is a lovely rose gold colour called ‘Perfect Storm’ and it has since become my favourite.

The eye shadows are easily blended, and you do not need a white base to make the colours pop – they’re so pigmented they do it on their own. The shades compliment each other to allow a large range of looks.

Sleek Highlighting Palette – Solstice

fullsizerender1

Clockwise from Top; Ecliptic, Hemisphere, Equinox and Subsolar.

There is a reason you can find this highlighter palette all over Instagram!

I was first intrigued by this highlighter when I saw it on my Instagram feed daily, and though – I must give it a go! Everyone who knows me already knows I never miss highlighting when it comes to my makeup, and this palette truly is a highlighting force to be reckoned with.

There are four shades, each with its own finish – there are two baked powders (Hemisphere and Equinox), one cream highlighter (Ecliptic) and one silky powder (Subsolar).

fullsizerender_11

Swatches!! L to R : Subsolar, Equinox, Hemisphere, Ecliptic.

The palette comes with it’s own brush applicator – which is handy for on the go application, but can apply the highlighters a bit too thickly for me. When applied using my fan brush these highlighters were more to my liking.

These highlighters are very glittery, so really do glow in light and may be a put off for others! My favourite shades from this palette have to be Ecliptic and Hemisphere. I really love Ecliptic’s cream texture as its easy to blend!

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and very sleek, with an inbuilt mirror and a rose gold finish:

Bottom Line: Truly pigmented, high colour pay off highlighters! A drugstore must have.

#MOTD: My Essential Products

img_3861

These are the products I cannot bear to live without, and are a constant staple in my makeup bag!

Starting off is my base. I always use NYX’s Angel Veil as my primer – it helps keep my makeup flawless and is a stable base. I have dry and combo skin, and I find it perfect for me – it does however leave a silicon type feel which might put others off. My foundation is NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat in Porecelain, and use NYX Dark Circle Concealer in Fair (which is a perfect Pixi Correction Concentrate Brightening Peach dupe!) under my eyes and on my eyelids. If I feel I need extra coverage I can always rely on Bourjois’ Healthy Mix and Blur The Lines concealer. The former is for light coverage days, and the latter is perfect for high coverage due to it’s thick creamy formula!

For my cheeks I’ll either use Benefit’s Rockateur or Bourjois’ Little Round Pot Blusher in Rose Frisson or Healthy Mix. I mix it up depending on my chosen lip colour and desired look. My highlighters change daily but they’re always from NYX’s Strobe of Genius palette. For more glam looks I use my Sleek’s Solstice Palette as I find that these are more pigmented – review of which you can find here.

For a daily look I go nude eyelids – or a rose gold if I’m feeling fancy – with black cat eyeliner for which I use Kat Von D’s Ink Liner in Trooper. I curl my lashes daily and use Urban Decay’s Perversion mascara on my top lashes and the Bourjois’ Volume Glam Ultra Curl on my lower lashes. I define my eyebrows using NYX’s Eyebrow Push Up Bra, as the colour is a universal match – so it suits everyone! I set them using L’Oreal’s Brow Artist Plumper, which is a fibre infused gel so it adds a bit more definition and volume as it sets!

To finish it all off I use my MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande 2 lipglass (review you can find here!), as it gives a subtle pink/mauve sheen or I use NYX Matte Lipstick in Sierra.
