Alice In Wonderland Afternoon Tea at Bartley Lodge, New Forest | Review – Press Event

If you’re a fan of Alice in Wonderland and enjoy indulging in a traditional British afternoon tea, then Bartley Lodge in the beautiful New Forest is the perfect place for you!

With an invitation extended to attend the Mad Hatter’s tea party, this Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea will transport you to a whimsical world of delicious treats and charming décor.

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing it for myself via invite from Bartley Lodge and here’s my review!

As I walked through the enchanting grounds of Bartley Lodge in the New Forest, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement for the Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea that awaited me.

I had always been a fan of the classic tale, and the thought of indulging in an afternoon tea inspired by it was truly a dream come true!

The afternoon tea came with a selection of sweet and savoury treats, including traditional finger sandwiches, scones and a selection of teas to choose from.

To start, we were asked which tea we would like – I went for the classic everyday brew with a splash of milk and sugar.

But you could choose from lemon and ginger, peppermint, Chamomile flowers, super berry, and many more!

The teas came in Alice and Wonderland themed teapots and china.

This attention to detail really made you feel like you’re guests at the Mad Hatter’s tea party!

The sandwiches were the usual British traditional cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, egg salad, coronation chicken and smoked salmon. All neatly presented with the crusts cut off – presented as the perfect finger sandwiches!

Next came the scones, which were served warm and freshly baked!

We had one fruit and one plain scone each. They were accompanied by Dorset clotted cream and their own homemade jam, which was made from freshly picked New Forest grown strawberries.

On the top shelf of the afternoon tea display were the sweet treats – with one of each kind for us both to try and enjoy.

Each bite was not only delicious but also a nod to the beloved characters from the story.

Every sweet treat was themed from the classic novel;

• Curiouser and curiouser coffee & chocolate Opera cake
• Queen of Hearts raspberry tart
• Cheshire Cat macaron
• White chocolate Rabbit choux bun

As I indulged in the delectable treats, I couldn’t help but admire the creativity and thought that went into each dish. It was evident that the team at Bartley Lodge had put a lot of effort.

Overall, my experience at Bartley Lodge’s Alice in Wonderland themed afternoon tea was truly magical. From the impeccable service to the delectable food and the charming atmosphere, it was a truly unforgettable experience.

I highly recommend adding this to your New Forest itinerary and indulging in a unique and delightful afternoon tea experience.
