I was absolutely delighted to be invited to the grand opening of the brand-new Lush Hair Lab in Poole, and what an extraordinary experience it was!
This stunning new space — only the third Lush Hair Lab in the world — is located at the picturesque Dolphin Quays, overlooking Poole’s beautiful seafront.
From the moment I stepped inside, I knew this wasn’t just an ordinary salon visit; it was an experience designed to delight every sense.
Lush has long been celebrated for its ethical approach to beauty, and this salon truly embodies that ethos.
Combining botanical hair care, sensory relaxation, and sustainability, the Lush Hair Lab is a sanctuary for both the scalp and the soul.
Vibrant yet serene, the space is filled with lush greenery, natural light, and shelves brimming with handmade hair care products.
It’s impossible not to feel calm the moment you enter — the inviting atmosphere set the tone for an indulgent self-care ritual.
A Tailored, Botanical Hair Spa Experience
On my return visit for the full botanical head spa experience, I was greeted warmly by my stylist, who explained the bespoke treatment I would be enjoying.
Every detail was carefully tailored to my hair and scalp needs — from the pre-treatment scalp scrub to the final rinse.
Before we began, I was invited to select a blend of herbs, spices, and flowers to create my own unique botanical poultice, which would be infused into my final hair wash.
This personal touch made the entire ritual feel intimate and immersive, as though I was crafting my own little potion for relaxation.
The Ultimate in Relaxation and Comfort
As the experience began, I was cocooned under a weighted blanket — a delightfully comforting touch. The treatment started with a gentle scalp pre-treatment and massage, followed by a rejuvenating shampoo and conditioning session using fresh, handmade Lush products chosen specifically for my hair type.
Each step was accompanied by soothing massage techniques, leaving me completely relaxed surrounded by the sounds of a tropical rainforest.
I could feel the tension melting away as my stylist worked with care and precision.
When it was time for the blow-dry, I was moved over to the main salon areas and offered a fruit infused water and a cup of tea.
I was also offered a hot water bottle and cosy blanket to keep me warm — a meaningful detail that made the entire experience feel like a comforting escape from the outside world.
My hair was protected before my blow dry using Lush’s Shield, which is a primer and heat protectant serum – which also smells delicious. Actually, every product used during my hair wash smelt lovely – leaving my hair smelling a mix of fresh fruits and warm vanilla.
More Than a Salon Visit
The result? Bouncy, glossy, and beautifully refreshed hair, along with a completely clear mind. It was the perfect balance of indulgence and mindfulness — exactly what you’d expect from Lush’s philosophy of self-care through nature.
