True Beauty London – Premium Beauty Monthly Subscription Box – PR

IMG_6483

A new beauty subscription box to challenge the others!

I discovered True Beauty on Instagram where then got in touch and sent me a beauty subscription box to try out and review. So please note- I received this box complimentary to review!

The True Beauty model is to allow us to try out new products in the comfort of our homes via their curated monthly subscription box. Their boxes contain handpicked items, often with a theme, by the lovelies at True Beauty and you will receive four full sized items and two sample products to try out! Here is my box from May;

IMG_6482

You would have seen a sneak peek of my subscription box on my Instagram stories – if you don’t follow me you should!! In my box I received a pair of Eylure Enchanted Power Flower eyelashes, NYX Vivid Brights eyeliner in Purple, Smashbox Lipgloss in Lilac, Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb face mask, NYX Tea Tree Blotting Paper, an E.L.F. Blending Brush and Belif cream sample.

IMG_6484

I was very impressed with the variety and brands that were included – NYX and Smashbox are premium brands so to get such a haul as this was impressive, especially considering the £30 price tag. I have to point out that some items, for instance the Smashbox lip gloss are old season and no longer available, it’s still nice to have them in a subscription box and shows the initiative the creators had to ensure we have premium brands in this deluxe box without cheaping out. I’d rather have a slightly older product, even discontinued items, than have little bits and bobs that can often turn subscription boxes into bric-n-brac, fill ’em up clutter where I’m stuck with items that I don’t even value.

Bottom Line: A premium beauty box with a variety of brands from both ends of the beauty spectrum.

Price: From £24 a month, at True Beauty London.

Abibu London – Nutra-Revitalising Moisturiser – HydraVictuals – PR

IMG_6629

A nutrient full, light moisturiser that hydrates skins!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Abibu London for me to review for my followers  – Please note I received this complimentary!

This moisturiser is part of Abibu’s revolutionary take on modern skincare, ensuring that their products in their new HydraVictuals range are full of nutritious ingredients that have scientific evidence of their beneficial properties – it isn’t some hokum whizzed up in a bottle on a false promise, it’s an elegant blend of luxury and science.

My first impressions of the product is how well presented it is in it’s box, it looks good and sleek and extremely presentable. The jar itself looks chic, a bold clean white with pink and chrome accents making it look very sophisticated on your vanity or nightstand. It’s made of a light plastic making it easy to travel with compared with glass jars that you find with other products – saving vital luggage weight for other makeup…

IMG_6627

This moisturiser is packed full of plant extracts, vitamins C and E, anti-oxidants, biotin, collagen, and zinc – making a treat for your skin and senses – it smells delicious, light floral with a soothing calm and not overpowering which is what I like in my products as fragrance can cause irritation!

I have been using this moisturiser for a month to ensure I could get the best impression of the moisturiser before writing this review. I was very shocked at how easily this product sunk into my skin considering the thick appearance of the moisturiser, it has a souffle texture within the jar. It’s amazing watching it melt at the touch of my body heat – creating a soft, smooth and hydrated finale for my skincare routine.

IMG_6626

I’ve found it creates a taut feeling to my skin making it feel instantly rejuvenated and plumped. The hydration is brilliant – as you guys are aware I suffer from combi/dry skin and find some products knock my skins balance and can cause oiliness/breakouts – this however just adds the right amount of hydration without the breakouts as it isn’t oily so doesn’t clog up my pores.

I’ve been preferring to use it underneath my primer, or even without primer, as I have found it to sit well and doesn’t create an oily base meaning my makeup is not affected by the product and remains long-wearing. I’ve also found my makeup does not react with the ingredients as some moisturisers can speed up the oxidation of my foundation.

Bottom Line: Became a staple in my routine, even to the point of replacing my GlamGlow Glowstarter!!

Dr. G – Aquasis Water Vital Sleeping Mask – Hydrating Mask – Korean Skincare – PR

IMG_4673

A hydration overnight mask to improve the moisture levels of your skin!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Skinsider for me to review for my followers  – Please note I received this complimentary! I was sent this to introduce me to the website, and company that is www.Skinsider.co.uk . Skinsider is a one stop shop for Korean Skincare, and as you know – I love Korean Skincare! What I love the most about this site is the fact that they categorise the products by skin concern and skin type – so you can find your ideal product.

This is my first dabble with the brand that is Dr G, which is apparently a big thing in Asian skincare routines. This is an overnight mask treatment that delivers a lot of hydration while you sleep – I’m often putting this on during the day if I’ve got a few hours spare or even to relax during my late night blogging sessions.

IMG_4674

This moisture mask also helps protect and strengthen the skins natural barrier due to the Bio-Hyaluronate solution which pulls and keeps moisture inside the skin. It also contains  Resurrection Plant, which grows in the desert with minimum water, provides and activates moisture energy for healthy skin and a clear complexion.

This moisture mask is filled with skin caring, and hydrating ingredients to help improve skins appearance and repair any blemishes! It’s texture is reminiscent of the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Gel Moisturiser when you first apply it, and then as it dries you hardly tell you’re wearing a mask. To remove it, all you need to do is wash it away with warm water. This moisturising mask is perfect for those who are prone to acne as it will not clog pores!!

Bottom Line: Holy moly, get it on my face now! It’s like bathing in aloe vera without the clogged skin and breakouts.

OMOROVICZA – Facial Mist – Queen of Hungary Mist

IMG_4672

A refreshing mist to revive your tired out skin, with a cosy scent!

I got this as part of my Discovery Set along with my other Omorovicza goodies – you can find my first impressions review of the Discovery Kit here.

Firstly, I must point out how lovely the scent is. It is a warm, comforting, slightly citrus scent reminiscent of the other Omorovicza skincare items. The mist on this is insane – its not even a spritz or spray, it is like a puff of moisture that douses my skin in moisture. The spray is so fine to allow your skin to absorb it whilst refusing to get drenched – I have found the spritz on my other sprays, such as my Gerard Cosmetics Setting Spray, to be large and clumpy and I’m often drenched after a few light sprays.

You can use this as a moisturising primer before makeup, or a setting spray to add a dewy finish! It’s also perfect for having in your handbag to freshen up your makeup as the day goes on, or to use on makeup-less skin for a quick pick me up! I have this in my bag if I’m travelling as I can retreat to a restroom and spritz up to feel comfortably refreshed.

Bottom Line: A lovely scented refreshing facial spray that can revive your skin after a long day., or add a boost of hydration in your morning skin routine.

The perfect kit to introduce you to the skincare brand from Budapest!

I was lucky enough to get this kit from my partners parents as a Christmas present this year, as they know I’m into my skincare and make-up! They weren’t too sure if I liked the brand, so decided to get me the Discovery Kit so I can try a bit of everything the brand has to offer.

I’ve tried Omorovicza before and you can find my previous reviews here, and I will be using and reviewing each of the items over the next few weeks so keep your eyes open!

IMG_4258

This kit is the perfect, budget friendly way, to try out this brand and see whether it is perfect for your skin! I am amazed by the generous sizes of the products – they’re not deluxe samples, their travel friendly sizes!

Bottom Line: The full size versions of these items range from £25-£85, so the fact you get a large amount of each product for just £59 – it makes it such a good deal!

Nia Skincare – Fully Charged Serum x Moisturiser 2 in 1 – PR

FullSizeRender_1

A lazy girl’s skincare regime in one simple step!

I was very lucky to receive this product from Nia Skincare for me to review for my followers – Please note I received this complimentary!

I received this serum as part of a promotion the lovely people at Nia Skincare was throwing. The NIA in Nia Skincare stands for Not-Into-Ageing, and their skincare line promotes that ethos with every product sporting anti-ageing properties.

They market this hybrid serum as a “one and done, lazy girl” product due to ease of use and the multi-functioning properties it has. This serum / moisturiser hybrid simplifies what are usually complicated 3 step routines into one sole product.

FullSizeRender

My first impressions of this serum is that’s a very light moisturiser, therefore it doesn’t leave my skin feeling heavy and clogged up. I did have to reapply in some of my dry-problem areas, but that is common with light moisturisers I find. This fully-charged hybrid left a healthy subtle glow whilst it brightened my skin, especially around my eye area. I certainly found that it hydrated my skin, particularly after cleansing using my new Foreo Luna Play, where after cleansing my skin is gasping for moisture.

Its packed full of hyaluronic-amimo complex which is designed to mimic the skins natural hydration and support the skin barrier function to boost skins health. Remember hyaluronic acid is a friend – it helps aid hydration. It also has various other extracts such as Dragon Fruit, Wild Indigo and Plankton which work together to minimize the signs of aging, increase skins luminosity and reduce dullness, as well as to nourish and protect the skin. This product is also formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines and help prevent future signs of aging – see they’re really Not-Into-Aging.

Bottom Line: If you’re not into fully fledged skincare routines, or want to simplify your current one, then this product is for you!

Luvenesco – Retinol Hydrating Cream – Complete Care – PR

FullSizeRender_1

A beautiful facial cream, that settles on the skin ensuring it is delivering deep moisture with a lovely. non-overpowering scent.

I’ve noticed that my skin is a lot more plumped and hydrated – which is much needed in this cold, wintery weather! It also contains a plethora of vitamins so it can help repair any damages whilst hydrating.

The active retinol is used to fight signs of ageing & ripens pores, leaving your silky smooth, supple and vivid. The reason why retinol is becoming a beauty product staple is because of its age-fighting capabilities which can help diminish most signs of ageing.

Bottom Line:  Deep moisturising cream with a lovely scent!

Dr Botanicals – Tropical Invigorating Cream – PR

FullSizeRender (7)

A lightweight, super moisturiser that will protect ski from pollution!

This cream was gifted to me from the lovely people at Dr Botanicals for my review and opinion!

This cream as a lovely light fragrance and is very light in formula, which has helped my skin absorb it easily without the weighted residue of thicker facial creams. This cream is created with the purpose of brightening, protecting and repairing the skin due to the Elder-flower extract.

The Elder-flower extract helps protect the skin from free radicals that can damage and cause early skin ageing. This cream also contains chamomile flower extracts which can help soothe damaged and irritated skin! The Tiare flower extract helps nourish, deeply moisturise as well as purify the skin. Basically it had three kick-ass, natural extracts in which together create the ultimate fighting team against skin damage! Oh, and its VEGAN!

The cream really nourished my skin and it didn’t cause me to break out, instead it calmed the redness that I have around my nose and chin, which made me feel more confident going make-up free in work. My skin felt cleaner and plumper – might have been from the amount of moisture that was being pumped into it!

The only issue I have is the price tag, but the product does last a while, it just seems pricey for a tube that will last 2 months…

Bottom Line: A lightweight, nourishing moisturiser that helps brighten complexion and protects from damage.

Price: £39.90 at Dr Botanicals.

Rating: *** (Expect a bigger tube for the price…)

TONYMOLY – Panda’s Dream – So Cool Eye Stick

FullSizeRender_1

An adorable dose of Korean Skincare aimed at reducing puffyness around the eyes.

I am in awe of anything to do with skincare from Korea, purely because of the quality and the style of their products! They focus on providing the best skincare, so I can never pass up the chance to try and review Korean skincare and beauty items!

I was very eager to use and try this as I have wanted a cooling eye stick for  long while as I’ve heard they’re brilliant for day to day skincare – but other migraine sufferers have said they help cool the eye area which often hurts during a migraine attack!  But boy, oh boy, was I disappointed with this product!

FullSizeRender

Where to begin? For starters the cooling effect was minimal, you could have asked your best friend to blow on your skin for more relief than this thing provided, or made a paper fan to deliver a cooler breeze.

Another thing I hated about this was that the product falls apart on application, causing you to end up with huge chunks of blue around your eyes and all over the packaging! I don’t want to be cleaning it after every use and having to massage the living hell out of my eyes just to blend the clumps!

I found it did sweet nothing for my eyes and the skin around it, when it dried it felt sticky and left the area feeling tight which was weird. This was such a disappointment as I’ve been in love with my other Panda’s Dream products!

Bottom Line: Unless you want a cute little mascot for your desk/vanity – AVOID!

Price: £12.50 at Beauty Bay

Rating: * (That packaging is its only redeeming point.)

GK NATURALS – Whipped Body Butter – Lavender – PR

FullSizeRender_2.jpg

A whipped treat for your skin and hair with a beautiful scent.

I was gifted this from GK Naturals in return for my honest review on this product – so here it is!

I’m always looking for a good moisturiser as I suffer with dry skin and often get patches where it seems my skins just expelled all of its moisture… I found this to be good quality as a little goes a long way and it only sits on the skin for a few moment before its absorbed – which I like. I hate it when moisturiser just gets gobbled up instantly and I’m left wondering if it will even get the job done or I’m going to have to lather myself up again.

FullSizeRender_1

I love using this after my showers as the lavender oil means it has a very comforting and sleepy-esque scent which makes me want to wrap up warm in my duvet and hibernate for the evening! The lavender oil is tastefully added though, so its comforting rather than making me smell like I’m about to enjoy a whole bag of humbug mints…

It delivers a punch of moisture to my skin – but not so much I break out – especially on my back where back acne is an issue. I haven’t used this on my face as I do not enjoy using thick body creams as they do cause my facial skin to go from dry to oily mess, which in turn causes it to break out.

Bottom Line: Sinks in nicely after warm bath or shower. Use it sparingly as a little goes a long way.
