FaceInc by NailsInc – Joyful Skin – Mini Mask Wreath Gift Set – First Impressions

IMG_4453

A cute set of five mini masks to combat all skin types and complains.

I saw this in the sales after Christmas and wanted to try it out as I haven’t used Face Inc skin masks before, and as these usually retail for £5 a pop, to get them all for £12 at Boots was a massive saving – I couldn’t resist!

In this set you get five, one time use masks, in a cute colourful little container. The masks are as follows;

  • Night Night Soothing Hydro Night Mask – This is an overnight mask full of Vitamin E to hydrate and nourish your skin giving it protection.
  • Carbon Neutral Charcoal Purifying Mask – This is a purifying mask with Moroccan lava clay and activated charcoal to draw out any impurities leaving your skin deeply cleansed.
  • Bubble Burst Hydrating Serum – This is a serum made of Argan oil for an intense moisture hit.
  • Silver Streak Brightening Peel Off Mask – This is a peel off mask that will brighten and purified skin with a dose of Vitamin E, C and B3.
  • Rose Glow Youth Boosting Peel Off Mask – This is a youth boosting mask with Vitamin B3 and assorted minerals to give the skin a natural glow.

The varied selection of masks means you will find one to suit your mood and current skin worry. I am very eager to give this a go, and you will find my in depth reviews of these masks individually as the time goes on!

FOREO – Get Up And Glow Kit – Foreo Luna Play and Cleansers – First Impressions

FullSizeRender (2)

A budget friendly trial kit to test out the innovate brand Foreo!

I bought this set to try out the mini Luna Play from the Foreo skincare collection as I have heard a lot about this miniature version of their Luna, and was excited that it came with their Day and Night cleansers, making it the perfect beginners set.

If you’re new to sonic cleansing brushes, this is a perfect, inexpensive set to get yourself dabbling in it before making a bigger investment and purchase. This set included the Luna Play which is a non-rechargeable version of their Luna Play which sports their T-Sonic patented cleaning technology. This set includes 15ml of their Day and Night Cleansers, offering enough to test their formula out before purchasing the larger sizes. The Day cleanser is made with fruit extracts to deeply cleanse, refresh and moisturise your skin. The Night cleanser is a semi-scrub filled with cosmic shimmer that melts and removes makeup and dirt.

I was very impressed with the quality of the cleansing brush as it is soft, pliable and due to size – able to get in to all of the nooks and crannies around my nose and eyes. I will be reviewing each item in depth at a later date after using it for a month – so keep your eyes open!

Bottom Line: This is the perfect set to introduce yourself with the brand, without paying a larger investment!

Price: £29 at Foreo, RRP’d at £41.

ANATOMICALS – Face Masks – Anti-Blemish and Mattifying Face Masks – PR

FullSizeRender (1)

Two cleansing face masks, that will de-grease and get rid of blemishes!

I received these products in return for my honest review – so here it is!

I decided to use these face masks together, as I had great success using the exfoliating and calming one together for an intense cleaning routine, and thought they would compliment each other nicely!

The anti-blemish mask is made up of tea tree oil, sage oil and primrose oil which soothes and calms the skin whilst removing dirt and blocked pores. This mask hasn’t got any exfoliating properties, so it wasn’t drying or abrasive but instead the oils helped deliver moisture to my skin. It did clean some of my blackheads on my nose but didn’t do much for my chin area, which was disappointing as my chin area is usually my breakout zone.

Due to the three different oils in the anti-blemish face mask, I wanted to ensure that all excess oil would be removed from my skin as excess oil for me causes a lot of whiteheads, therefore I used the clarifying mask after!

This clarifying mask uses enriched oat protein to revitalise and hydrate skin, as well as regulating excess oils giving a shine-free, matte bright complexion. This mask was very, very good! It’s either a win or fail for me with clarifying products – either it strips off too much oil, causing dryness and skin irritation or it delivers my desired results – there is no in-between. This luckily was the latter and delivered me a shine free, clear face which the following day, was not oily which reduced my breakouts overnight. I highly recommend this for anyone suffering with oily skin and related breakouts.

Bottom Line: A budget friendly face mask, that’s is a spot busting superhero leaving a shine free, oily face!

ANATOMICALS – Face Masks – Apricot Face Scrub & Calming Algae Face Mask – PR

FullSizeRender

Two cleansing face masks, that will whip and caress your skin into shape!

I received this product in return for my honest review – so here it is!

I decided to use these face masks together, as I often find that any exfoliating scrub can cause my skin to get dry and angry, and apricot seed scrubs are the biggest culprits!

The apricot scrub smelt delightful, and it was very easy to use and apply it, in this packets there’s more than enough for your first application and I saved a bit to use for another day on my problem areas. The mask wasn’t as gritty as I was expecting – which is very good – I’ve found with others it’s so bitty it hurts to exfoliate with it. It was very easy to remove with a damp, warm flannel and left my skin feeling soft, yet nourished – which was a surprise as scrubs usually leave my skin screaming for moisturiser!

The calming algae face mask was soothing to my freshly exfoliated skin, reducing my redness and delivering moisture to my skin. It calmed my redness a lot more than I expected it to, usually I’m Rudolph for the next few hours – this on the other hand made my redness fade within half an hour – so I will definitely be re-purchasing this for when my redness is in overload!

Bottom Line: A budget friendly face mask, that’s very high performing!

An adorable dose of Korean Skincare to rejuvenate the eyes.

I decided to try out the  Panda’s Dream eye patches after trying the other item from the Panda’s Dream So Cool… Stick and the Moisture Gel Cream, and needed a pick up from my recent late nights!

I’ve ended up with dark circles so wanted to treat myself one night, so I sat down with my glass of Prosecco and popped these two bad boys on! The patches themselves are fibre and black, making you look like a panda! It’s adorable!

The patches are saturated in bamboo shoot extract and vitamin B3 to minimise fine lines and wrinkles to keep you looking fresh and youthful.  It’s this intense hydration that helps to ‘plump’ and brighten the delicate skin around the eyes!

A moisturising mask that can also be used as an overnight intense treatment!

I love trying new items, and was eager to try this moisturising mask! As you all know, I suffer from dry skin, and this weather is not helping! This Moisturising Mask rehydrates and soothes dry skin leaving the skin is soft and hydrated thanks to a formula rich in grape-seed oil, Vinolevure® (their patented grape extract that moisturises and protects), and plant glycerine. It’s an intense shot of moisture that can be used as a standard mask, or overnight for the ultimate treatment.

Using overnight, I woke up and the blemishes I had had become less angry and red, and I didn’t break out! It’s even recommended for the most sensitive skin!!

Oh K! Coconut Water Fibre Face Mask

fullsizerender-8

How adorable are these?! I managed to stumble on these in my local River Island.

These masks are made by Oh K! a brand that is taking on the Korean beauty trend with a new line of products, and this being one of them!

I found these fibre masks to be a bit too thick so they added a lot of weight to my face, and because of it, kept sliding down. They did deliver a lot of hydration, but I could only keep them on for 10 minutes – not the 15-20 recommended due to how uncomfortable they made me feel.

Bottom Line: Cute for a little novelty face mask for uber hydration – but may feel uncomfortable for some users like me.  They’re absolutely adorable and the packaging is so cute!!

Price: £8 for a pack of 3. Got these in River Island, but you can buy them online at Beauty Bay

Beauty Stones Green Tea Facial Mask

img_3643

These masks are one of my new favourite fabric face masks!

The natural fibre sheet is the right thickness, enough to hold the serum but not so thick that it creates an uncomfortable weight on the face. It’s packed with green tea extract which combats acne and any blemishes whilst the hyaluronic acid re-moisturises your face.

It’s suitable for all skin types – I’m dry/combo and it was perfect – it didn’t cause any breakouts (actually reduced the spots I already had) and quenched my skins thirst!

I was so thrilled with the results I was able to hit the shops without any foundation and concealer the next day!

I treated myself to a pretty big ice cream!

Bottom Line: Actually reduced the inflammation of my pre-existing spots. Has a lovely fresh fragrance and didn’t feel uncomfortable for the 20 minutes I had it on. Perfect weekend treat to unwind from the stress of work!
