“Nestled in the idyllic countryside off the Avon Causeway, in close proximity to the picturesque New Forest, is Sopley Farm – a seasonal Pick Your Own destination! “
Sopley Farm in Christchurch, Dorset is known for its Pick Your Own experience, specifically for their juicy strawberries during the summer and their pumpkin patch in the autumn!
This family-owned farm, part of Dan Tanner’s, has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a fun and unique way to enjoy a day out in the countryside regardless of season.

This P-Y-O farm has a lot to offer from a Farm Shop, Café and children’s play area making it perfect day out for the entire family to enjoy!
As someone who loves picking their own fruits and supporting local businesses, I couldn’t wait to check out Sopley Farm’s Pick Your Own experience this summer to harvest some berries.
This farmland is comprised of many rows of different berries and vegetables such as strawberries, raspberries, tayberries, runner beans, corn and in late September and October – pumpkins!
If you’re eager to have a harvest day out – July and August are the best times to come and forage for strawberries.
They have plenty of strawberry bushes in rows to allow ample harvesting, and in the summer heat the air is fragrant -smelling like fresh strawberry jam!
During these months they also have raspberries and blackberries available so you can pick a lovely selection of summer berries!

Sopley Farm pride themselves in producing good quality produce to people across Hampshire and Dorset, which is “as fresh as it gets”!

Overall, my visit to Sopley Farm for their Pick Your Own experience was a delightful one.
From the friendly staff to the delicious strawberries, it was definitely a day well spent.
Not only did I get to enjoy the beautiful countryside and support a local farm, but I also got to take home a basket of fresh, hand-picked strawberries.
As I went to pay for my foraged berries, I looked around the farm shop and picked up a few extra items the store has to offer; a punnet of raspberries, two of the most delicious nectarines I have ever had, and a pack of fresh New Forest sausages to use for some sausage sarnies for my Monday WFH breakfast.
They also offer a huge variety of preserves, jams, honey & honeycomb, meats and dairy and other Dorset produce – making it a great way to buy some delicious gifts for family to remember your day trip!
If you’re looking for a fun and tasty day out idea, I highly recommend heading to Sopley Farm in Dorset.
Make sure to also check out Dan Tanner’s other farm, Cat & Fiddle Farm & Café, off of Hinton, Lyndhurst, where the following are available for pick your own when in season:
Strawberries, Raspberries, Blackberries, Tayberries, Loganberries, Gooseberries, Blackcurrants, Redcurrants, Runner Beans, Broad Beans, Pumpkins, Sunflowers and Gladioli.

Trust me, this is a delicious experience you won’t want to miss out on!
