We’re coming to the end of the year, and you know what that means. Resolutions.
But what if your resolutions weren’t the stereotypical diet-based or centred around going to the gym? Making smaller changes to yourself and your routines may be a kinder way to shift into a new year whilst still reinventing yourself. Here’s what you can do!
New Skincare, New You!
Using the same old skincare may start to lose sparkle for you, skin can get used to products and they stop having their desired effect. The trick with easing new products into your regime without upsetting your skin is doing it slowly.
You will most likely already know your skin type and, thus, what products to use on your skin, but a quick google and identification with different criteria of different skin types will get you up to scratch.

Look for product reviews – you can find all of mine here! – and ensure they align with what works well for your skin. Trying new skincare products on the market is always tempting, but just make sure you do your research beforehand.
But remember – it takes up to 4 weeks for your skin to respond completely to your new found products!
Reshape your future with your hair!
Doing this may seem drastic and frightening. A new hairstyle can do wonders for you internally. Have you ever sat and thought about how long you’ve had your hair the way you have it? Not that there’s anything wrong with it, but when is the time for a change?
Going to a hairdresser or a high street beauty store that also specialises in hair could give you the advice you’re looking for. Hair stylists can know what hair style and colour you will suit by your skin tone and face shape. You may know what you want. The first thing to have is the confidence to do it. Sometimes you have to make the chop!

Give yourself a new reason to smile!
As you’ve seen in the past – I am embarking on my new Smile Story and looking to get some braces in the new year.
I will be opting to go for some clear teeth straighteners, which can change your look if it’s something you have had in mind for a while, but as a more discreet option!
They are completely removable, with you able to take them out to eat and brush your teeth. It is a lot more comfortable for a lot of people and a preferable procedure, as it’s less invasive than the typical dental procedure of braces. I know once I have completed my aligner journey I will be feeling a bit more confident in my smile. A permanent change may be the thing you’re looking for in the new year!
Learn Something New!
If you’re looking for some intellectual stimulation in the new year, why not take up something different? Learn a different language or a new skill. Take up cooking – which is what I did last year and find it so therapeutic on my journey of selfcare! There are so many different platforms that can teach you things these days!
YouTube is the answer to the majority of the hobbies you may be thinking about starting, along with TikTok.
You could pick up yoga, try a new instrument, learn the rules of culinary school, and be exceptionally rehearsed in 18th-century poetry.
Whatever it is you feel you want to learn, do it!

I haven’t really thought about resolutions for the new year, but I do want to implement more dancing and exercising/yoga and taking walks into my daily routine. It might be hard starting right as the new year starts considering I’ll be moving out literally at the end of the year lol.
Thanks for all these tips xx
