I was invited along to experience getting my nails done as acrylics for the first time at Westover Beauty in Bournemouth! I know, a beauty blogger who hasn’t done acrylics before…
I’ve tried my fair share of salons and techniques in my career as a beauty blogger, and this time I decided to try out acrylic nails, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience with others through this review.
I understand that when it comes to pampering ourselves and achieving the perfect manicure, finding the right nail salon is crucial.
With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the best place to get your nails done.
So if you’re considering getting acrylic nails, read on to see my honest thoughts on the process and the salon I visited.
I was warmly greeted when I arrived at the salon by Francis, one of the new owners, and Nikita, who would be my talented nail maestro for my visit! I was offered drinks throughout my visit which kept me refreshed along with their fan set up – which was delightfully welcomed in this recent warm weather!
I wanted to go cute and a little bit basic for my first ever set of acrylics – which Nikita helped me select the right length to start my tippy-tappy nail journey!
My inspiration picture had daisies but because I love all things pink – but Nikita allowed me to change it to a bubblegum pink petal and a pink glittery Unicorn shade for the center dot.
During my visit Nikita kept me informed of every step of my acrylic journey and made me feel at ease during the whole process.
I was so relaxed during this whole experience that it felt like I was chatting to a new friend as we were sharing what we we’re into and had a lot in common.
To start laying the groundwork for my cute nails, my nails were prepped by lightly buffing and my cuticles trimmed and cleaned to create the perfect base for the tips and acrylic nail builder. Once my nails were preened into the desired length and shape, I went for the classic almond shape that weren’t too long to ensure I can still do my daily job properly.
When my nails were all good to go – we went in with a base coat of the nude shade Innocent and went for a French tip. Then we added the cute nail art of flowers with pink petals and sealed it with a top coat. Nikita then went over with a file along my nail edges to make sure it was all smooth and looking great.
Nikita did a wonderful job at creating me my first ever set of acrylics and I left so happy!
Overall, my experience with getting acrylic nails at this particular salon was fantastic. From the friendly and skilled technicians to the quality of the products used, I was thoroughly impressed!
My nails have never looked better, and I’ve received countless compliments on them.
