Previously I was invited along to experience getting my nails done as acrylics for the first time at Westover Beauty in Bournemouth to get my first set of acrylics done! I was kindly invited back to enjoy a massage by their new therapist Ana!
I’ve tried my fair share of salons and massages in my career as a beauty blogger, and I couldn’t wait to share my experience with others through this review.
I understand that when it comes to pampering ourselves and achieving the perfect day of self care, finding the beauty salon is crucial!
With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to choose the best place. So read on to see my honest thoughts on the massage and the salon I visited!
Upon arrival I could see the aesthetic changes and tweaks the new owners have implemented from my first visit to try out my first ever set of acrylics!
This salon has a lovely relaxing feeling with a lot of natural sunlight beaming through which makes the place very inviting and perfect for a moment of pampering. I am always greeted so warmly when I arrive and offered a drink to settle in with – which really does add to the whole experience.
I was introduced to Ana, who would be carrying out my treats – a back, neck and shoulder massage as well as a scalp massage – a real full body experience.
I was told that Ana has a lot of experience with a large array of beauty treatment which has meant a lot more is on offer at Westover Beauty – including hydrofacials which I will be reviewing in the next month!
I was taken to my treatment room which was set up beautifully with candles, and had a consultation with Ana who asked me what I was looking to achieve from these massages.
After my consultation, I was shown where I can pop my personal affects such as my necklaces, rings and glasses – which was on a trinket tray and where to leave my clothing. Then I was left to de-robe and get ready for my massage. Once ready, Ana came in and started mixing up the oils she would be using during the massage.
This attention to detail added a new dimension to the massage and made the massage seem more personal – which I loved!
This was very unique experience as the information I gave her during my consultation about what I was hoping to achieve from the massages, my skin type, any concerns all helped Ana create a unique blend of oils suited to my requirements, adding another level of well-being via my favourite Aromatherapy!
My massage was perfect, with Ana’s experience she was able to work out some of my deeper knots in my shoulders and neck which I have been having issues with for a long while – which is due to having an office job and a bad case of ‘Tech Neck’ it seems!
I was able to communicate with Ana during my massage where she would check that the pressure was okay as she worked to get rid of my deep knots and crunchy muscles.
After my shoulders, neck and back were seen to, we moved on to a scalp and facial massage which was heavenly.
Ana’s touch when it came to my face massage was incredible – my face felt plumped, refreshed and at ease after – with my brow no longer holding my week’s tension.
I was so relaxed, I was dazed when I left – which is always a great sign of a massage!
I would highly recommend seeing Ana for a massage as her experience really makes these treatments tailored to you – as opposed to a once size fits all standard massage. I felt really comfortable by the warm personalities of everyone in the salon as well as the inviting and relaxing environment.
