If you read my recent collaboration update – you’d have seen I started a new affiliation with the nail magicians at Manucurist. To get our affiliation rolling they kindly sent me their unique Green Flash™ Discovery Set to dive right in on reviewing for you as well as creating content!
As a big believer in the Holy Trinity of Salon visits – the Mani, Pedi and Blow-out, I was interested in trying out ‘at-home’ nail care to enhance my self care routine.

The one thing that really made this product stand out to me is that their Green Flash™ LED Nail Polish can be removed at home, without acetone and without rubbing!
It also sets quickly using an LED lamp which is less harmful compared to standard Gel UV lamps, as well as containing up to 84% bio-sourced ingredients!
I love how this kit is everything you need to get going from day one – you get the Green Flash™ Base Coat and Top Coat, LED curing lamp, Cuticle Oil, Polish Remover and Nail Clips to hold your cotton pads in place for removal!
The fact this set is all complete meant I was able to start my nail journey as soon as the parcel arrived! It was really easy to set the LED lamp up, and it comes in a sturdy cardboard box to keep it tidy when not in use. They also send you stickers to decorate your lamp into your own aesthetic style – it was a lovely surprise!
The lamp comes with three auto settings; Base, Colour and Top, which auto selects the correct time you need to cure your nail varnish depending on which step you are on. This makes it so easy to just sit back and relax knowing the LED lamp will automatically cure it for the correct amount of time. It takes 4 minutes to totally cure your manicure in total!
As with the LED Lamp auto settings, to help keep you on track with the nail polishes – they have the numbers 1, 2 , or 3 on their lids depending on which step you need to use them; 1 being the Base Coat, 2 being your chosen colour and 3 being the top coat!
For my colour I decided to use their Old Rose which they described as a ‘an antique powder pink that captivates in a wink.’ It is a dusty pink which is my staple at the salons!
Another thing I LOVE is how all of their nail polishes are also clearly ranked on application difficulty with this one being labelled ‘Beginner Friendly’ – which I agree it is!

As with other nail polishes I have used previously – to get the best application you do a thin layer of base coat, two layers of colour and then a final top coat to seal in the goodness of your new manicure!
This manicure lasted me about 7 days before I got my first chip, and then I decided to remove it on the 11th day to use another colour – Hortencia – for a sheer barely there mani. The removal was so quick – unbelievably quick to the point I thought I got lucky with my first nail – until I saw all the other nail polish peel off in once piece after a minute of a soaked cotton pad being applied with the nail clips. After removing, I washed my hands to reveal my completely bare, not remotely dried out, nails ready for my new manicure!
As it came off so easy, the lack of scraping the old polish off meant no unnecessary damage occurred or thinning of your nails – which is a far cry of other UV Gel polishes I have used where I had to soak in acetone and then scrap the old gel off!
Bottom Line: Wow – this is so easy and quick to use – leaving me with salon worthy gel nails from my first time using it. They also lasted 7 days chip free! Easy to remove – no rubbing, no picking, it really did peel off on the cotton pads in one easy piece!
